Mine should be here on Tuesday! I've put off buying something for too long and every time I go to tie something down in the bed of my truck I feel very limited and remind myself to buy more tie-down locations.

I saw someone use a socket that fit over the head of the bolt but not larger than the washer and a hammer. Not sure if the washer is tight all the way down to the threads or if it just needs a move from the top.

Chuck the bolt in a hand held drill, then place a file on the rib while spinning the bolt. I can't claim this trick, saw it on here somewhere else, but it's quick and easy. Spray the bare metal with paint to prevent rust.

Regarding removing the factory washer off the bolt, I use a Dremel with a grinding bit and grinded down the neck of the bolt around the washer to slip the washer off. Was an easy process.

Install went well. I used a socket and vice to press off the washers, worked like a champ. I think my bolts look good for 8 years old. Put them back in with a covering of anti-seize.

    D-ring tie-downs.

I couldn't stand there were no front tie-downs either. I went the OEM route on my new one like my '06. Made a template from a manila folder and drilled through it from factory mounting recommendations. Didn't remove the inner fender, just pulled it away enough to tape a wrench to the bed on the nut, and wallah.

    Hey Devil,

Thanks again for the link for the drings. I received them and and did quick work of replacing the crappty eBay ones. Wow! they're beefy and oddly one dring stood out in color even though the p/n matched. Here are some comparison pics along with the Dremel bit I used to sand off the washer.20180724_210913.jpg 20180724_212105.jpg 20180724_212122.jpg 20180724_214450.jpg 20180724_212157_001.jpg[/QUOTE]

The OEM tie down loops, available at dealers, are top notch. And really not that expensive. Like $20 for a set, I think. They come with a thick and heavy backing plate with integrated nut that sits on the underside of the bed liner. You can drill and install wherever you like. They won't rust, like some alternatives, and they retain the ability to swivel.

I have the exact same D rings. If you file the threads down near the head, you can keep the factory washer.

Love those anchor points. I use them all the time.
