I have a dual and attempted to run air tools. I've heard people saying you can run tools with no tank but it's not true in my experience. I would need to add a small tank to get anywhere.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Yup. Hammer drill is for drilling concrete, masonry, block, etc. Not much use for a vehicle. Now a battery powered impact driver would be roughly the same as the air impact driver, but without the need for an air compressor, hose, etc. The flipside, is battery life. Which is much less of an issue with lithium batteries.

If you're considering an ARB message @dwaltdtx. I saw his FS thread earlier with a brand new one for 450 OBO but the thread has since been deleted. Maybe a lack of pics caused the mods to bring the hammer. Anyways, I bought some OME suspension from him in the past and the transaction went well. Would recommend. FWIW I fucking love my dual. It's stupid powerful compared to other OBA set ups.

@ilubtimmyhos would you know how to change the running lights/blinkers to off except when you activate the turn signal?

Although I'm not 100% on what you are asking, it's electrical, so yes.

Edit: you mean the outside marker lights? Let me look into it.

So yeah I have these orange day time running lights that are always on no matter what. They also act as the turn signals so I can’t just remove the bulb. I need a way that the lights will only turn on as blinkers and not always be on. Hope that was more clear

You can also look into doing what I have: replace those with white, leave them always on, and have the DRLs become led switchbacks that are also turn signals.

An air tool is superior in almost every way IMO but they're very demanding of the air supply and you're not going to power most air tools via mobile setups. A 1/2" Ingersoll air drill, for example, requires like 9CFM last I checked - 3x what an ARB dual is capable of producing. I mean, even a 3/8 impact can't be driven off OBA unless you've got a large tank.

battery setups are just more convenient for portable use.

Battery setups have gotten to the point where they can do anything the average user needs to do.
