@EdgeCrusher, Great Post with the TSB for the water leak, my dealer told me right away the sunroof vents were clogged and that they'll blow it out. Meanwhile my headliner is mildew stained (black interior) So the TSB you posted is AMMO for my new headliner and I purchased the ESP Platinum. Dealerships blow..

Denial is NOT a river in Egypt!!

Thanks again for the TSB, Toyota is going to replace my headliner (~1200part) and labor all becuz of a faulty gasket. VSA is NOT paying for it, BS!! The dealer though is taking care of it. 2 Thumbs up for the dealer.

Just an FYI, if anyone gets the leak and the part is on back order, you could always use plumbers putty, which is just like playdoh but more durable. This way its not permanent and can be easily removed but this will stop the leak temporarily. At least that's my plan if I ever notice it on my truck

I don't believe I've seen anything come across here, but that is likely due to them still being new... Time will tell

Water and car washers seem to be the bane of the tacos existence. For those with a moonroof just an FYI, I've been dealign with faulty seals and leaks for the better part of the last 2 months '17 DCSB (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/moon-roof-problems.551938/). The dealership and the factory rep. all say the trucks aren't meant to be taken through high-pressure car washers. Ridiculous, Toyota is beginning to go down hill.

Just a thought but have you tried to reset the sunroof? For some reason the auto" function has to be programmed and if not done correctly it can be slightly off.

I put a piece of clear scotch tape while I waited the week for appointment date. It worked and blended perfectly.

Just got my truck back today. August 14, 2018. I had dropped it off on July 24. AT&T phone reception is kind of bad around here lately and I got my message about an hour later so I took off once I got it.

They changed the whole 3rd brake light assembly and they didn’t find any water damage. They said to contact with any further issues/problems.

So glad to have it back. I was just getting use to the Hyundai’s Accent. Lol

I was about to send a letter to Toyota today but I decided to wait till tomorrow. No need for that now since they fixed it sooner than I expected.

I know right? They had to order the part so it took a while. Not sure if they had some other customers already in front of me to get theirs fixed.

Now, they’re telling me they’ll be replacing the blower motor due to complaints they’re getting so it’s becoming a recall. I scheduled my last free service, so they went ahead and ordered the part and they will let me know when it’s in, and I will bring it back for that. Kind of disappointing, because I didn’t have that many issues it’s seems that soon with my 2010 access cab four-cylinder 2WD SR5. I had maybe 1 to 3 things but that was it in a matter of one or two years.

I’m not having issues with the blower motor, but at least Toyota is being proactive to see about the issue before it occurs to other Tacomas.

Still waiting on getting my truck back. Bought my 2017 DCLB Off Road down in GA (from a toyota dealer) on July 29th and drove it back to TN a few weeks later. Noticed that my rear seats and headliner were wet, so I took it in to my local dealer on August 18th. They were a bit backed up that day so they gave me a loaner for the weekend since I took it in on a Saturday. Monday they contacted my after pulling the carpet and it turns out water must have been under the carpet for some time. They found a bunch of mold and the carpet was soaked through still.

Since my truck only had 24K, I was reassured that everything will be covered under the warranty. This put me at ease, but it now has been 24 days and today I was told it will be probably another week or so since ServPro who came out to test the truck/seats/headliner for additional mold growth has now lost the test results. ServPro now has to come out again to retest everything. My truck is STILL in pieces!

I guess on the bright side the dealer has let me drive around a Tundra for the last few weeks, but I have had to keep turning those in since the loaners keep getting sold. I am now on my 4th loaner! 2018 CH-R, 2018 Tundra Platinum, 2018 Tundra SR5, and a 2017 Tundra SR5.

I am wondering if, at this point, I should start requesting Toyota to through in anything else, maybe a paint correction for scratches, leather seats, extended warranty beyond 36k bumper to bumper? Need some help, what are your thoughts

Sorry for the long post, but I am starting to get irritated with this new truck that I have already paid the first payment on and I haven't event driven in for 2 full weeks.

    Enjoy the Pics!
