Snowblower loaded to give back to boy.
Bringing bow with me.
Going to meet a land owner this afternoon for permission to hunt his land and maybe do a little
Shooting with him.

Haven’t shot 3D in a year. Should be interesting..

Its a fun hobbie. since we live in civil war area people hunt all the fields they get acess to.cousin studys the troop movments and trys to hunt where they camped. ive dabbled in it. its fun. enjoy and get a good detector.

same here. major battlefields are protected.I live 1 mile from battle of the Piedmont. private land. my son deer hunts on one farm and every year the same guy hunts the fields after they chop the corn. finding camps is the key here as its usually wooded private and permission is easier to get and if you find one nobody has hunted it can be great. like Taco Mods. it can consume you!

 

I never detected much but here is stuff i found when went with my cousin a time or two

 

I found old maps from the early 1800's in the watershed areas i hunt a few miles away. Shows the old roads and settlements including a gun factory and the gunmaker's homesite. I walk by these places every year. Off limits ,of course.
The reservoirs were built in the 30's and it's cool seeing the old stone walls and roads going into the water and coming out the other side.

 

I caught one from my wife. She got over it in three days, I took over 1 week. First time I was sick in over 1.5 years

Got the jerky and tomatoes going also. I need to go and check houses but the LLWS regional game is on (NY v. Maryland). These games are fun to watch...and no kneeling!

I'm not too worried about the arc or legal aspects of this whole thing. My desk is 15' away from our archaeologist and we talk a lot and I know that most of the areas I'll probably visit have already been cleared by bio and cultural and have already been impacted for years otherwise I would be hamstrung on my job with running equipment. Most of the areas I'll visit I see on a regular basis now. Now the WWII stuff, I'd really go into carefully and have long discussions with all staff involved to include LE so I'm not violating any "act". Shit like that can get a person fired. And I'm perfectly ok with the "find" and putting it back for others to be able to discover and enjoy. Pictures work just fine.

 

1 more day of vacation left. 1 thing I want to get done still left.
