I just tweeted this link to Toyota. Maybe it will get noticed. If you got the time a few more from people might help. Sick of this shit.

I got that same assurance 17 months ago as well. Toyota will start working on it and have it completed within 25 minutes of their first class action lawsuit. Due to people getting killed becuase their trucks would not accelerate in an intersection.

This. Takata initially DENIED there were issues with their airbags..... until people started dying.

Huge air bag recall follows years of denial

You've had a case opened with Toyota for 17 months on this issue?

I hate the 3rd gen after all the issues I had. I pulled left in front of traffic with a Toyota engineer and it went limp and as it was happening as cars approached my side he was saying normal operation! Hahaha they also claim the rear end whine is normal as well as an incessantly popping seat.... Smh I never knew anyone else had the stalling limp issue

Sometimes at a red light, I'll have the left foot on the brakes and the left in the gas. Light turns green I get on it and nothing

Yeah I got rid of my 17 for an off-road 4runner. I'm liking the 4.0 although the gas mileage isn't amazing haha

I have the same problem on 2016 and Toyota of North Charlotte never finds a problem. How do I get this fixed. It is dangerous to drive.

For city driving, it's bad ass. Slight throttle and the truck amazingly gets moving quick and goes through the gears nicely. It's like a drug. But I do get the instant reaction one wants on the gas pedal in non ECT mode also. At 2900 miles. Both modes are fun to drive. 3.5 FTW.

I had this issue when I first bought ny 2017 TRD OR. Went away after a bit so I chalked it up to the “learning”. Came back recently after putting more 20k miles on the truck. Opened a case with Toyota, took it to the dealership twice based on Tacoma’s direction, had the latest TSB applied and now it’s worse. Dealership said they couldn’t recreate it and shared that they had another vehicle in for the same problem. Very frustrated! Anyone found a solution to this BS?

When did you have the latest one done? They have a fix for this that came out about a month ago. I have another thread going about the fix.

I had it done a few weeks back. Should have been the latest TSB that they attributed to elevation.

Double checked and it was the “62” TSB. Has gotten worse since then. Wonder if they updated the wrong one. Would you mind sharing the link to your other thread here? Thx

TSB 0062-18 will for sure fix this issue. I got it done Saturday morning and the truck drives up the Cajon Pass better than ever

Happened to me today in my off-road . I was in 4h doing my once a month to make sure the differiantial stays lubed and went to make a left turn at an intersection and it felt like the truck stalled. It’s an auto! There was on coming traffic which made it scary. I’ve never had this happen before in 2wd.

    Will the tsb fix this?

Turning hard while in 4wd on dry pavement is a big no no. I bet the reason it felt like the truck stalled was due to the driveline binding. My 2 cents.

Thanks! Good to know. Luckily it was from a complete stop.
