It was...lol...but hey, not everybody has a truck to wheel it. To each his own. I know we all just give tyler shit. Wheeling and breaking shit gets expensive

so very...very true. I'd be a wealthy man if not for what I've spent the past 2.5 years in owning and having fun with this truck. But hey...some memories are priceless right? .....right? :p

I bet it's even moreso when you have a little one to take along and enjoy the trips with, I'm excited for that in the next few years. Assuming it means I don't have to sell my truck, lol. Gonna be fun figuring out how to make that work with an Xtra cab (aka time to find a family ride)

The anxiety of watching you wheel more difficult obstacle with no sliders was killing me. I had a brief bit before I got mine back on after my new frame and i was so nervous the whole damn time. Was not fun.

Replaced the front Struts and rear shocks, nothing fancy since she will not be wheeling. Also removed rust, prepped, painted and undercoated. Timing belt and water pump this weekend possibly. Stripped the clear off the wheels too.

Haha I see it this way- most of the drivetrain and essentials are protected. Smashing the body I can still drive. I’ve been too lazy to make sliders and I’m not sure if I will even bother.

Do you really give that little fucks about the body though? I give very few fucks at this point, but if there is one thing I go extra out of my way on it's avoiding damage on the cab. Fenders can be replaced, the cab not so much. And sliders have so many other uses than protection. Deep water recover and need to step on something to get to your tools in the bed? Sliders. Need to release the clutch on the winch line in deeper water? Sliders to tire to front bumper. Need to jack the truck up? Sliders. Need to pull the truck sideways off a rock? Sliders. Need to pivot around a rock in a tight space? You guessed it, mother fucking sliders.

Got into a predicament with a stump last trip. This would have easily put a huge dent in my cab, if not a hole. Still dented it a little the way it landed.

I tried to winch off but it was perfectly placed.

[IMG]IMG_1190 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

Jacked it up, cut it and winched myself over just in case.

Sliders are easily the most used piece of armor I have on this truck.

That and one good smack without sliders and you won't be able to close the door ever.

Sliders are kind of offroading 101..

favorite part about my magnaflow system? The exhaust exited nice and tucked up in between the leafspring and frame.

“Diff oil dripping on the ground...Barely on the dirt and Frankenstein was already acting up” should be the teaser quote for all of Frank’s memoirs.

I destroyed my rocker panel before I got sliders. Ended having my daughter hold the exterior door handle up while I double rabbit kicked it from the inside...just to open the door after the incident. Proceeded to use a 2x4 and a sledge hammer to pound it out just so the door can open and close.

If only I had sliders prior.

There's so so so many trails that don't even require 4x4. You can have fun and explore without "wheeling"

I imagined a big ass chocolate bunny, the kind you find for sale during Eastery, jumping up and down on the truck....
