Well after lots of research I attempted to throw together a roof rack for my 1st gen DC. I would have bought one BUT prinsu or other companies don’t make them for the 4 door sadly. There are some things I would change on round two like slightly bigger sides.

The curvature of the roof was hard to follow because it is flat on the roof absolutely no where... some type of angle on the whole thing making it harder to get a flush, close to the roof rack. The middle crossbars are 80/20 aluminum but they didn’t sell the size I needed so I ordered larger, measured, and tapped the holes with threads.

    Anyways... here’s the pics.

Looks good, Prinsu is now selling them for 1st gen double cabs. But hey, you probably saved a few bucks anyway.

    Are they really? :bananadead:

When I looked a few weeks ago I could only find them for the extended cabs

Edit: just checked their website and you were correct...

Yep, TBH if you’re worried about lining up with the curvature of the roof you did a better job than their double cab version. Go take a look.

Just checked them out on their website. Looks like they used the same company for their crossbars but didn’t cut them down. So their bars must be 44” wide, I was worried if I didn’t cut them down it would look like wings mounted to the roof, ha

    Thanks, appreciate it :hattip:

The new prinsu double cab one looks like ass and it mounts poorly, you did very well, looks much better than theirs.

    Thank you much appreciated! :hattip:

    Bought it from Tnutz.com

When you get on the page type “prinsu” into their search bar and these exact 1x2” cross bars come up in different sizes

I initally saw your rack and thought Prinsu/CBI redid their design to make it look/function better. Your’s looks like how their’s should have from the start, great job!

@Digiratus Details on how you mounted your Tru-cool LPD Transmission cooler? I bought the same one and was curious if you had to make your own brackets or used the ones that come with the cooler?

I had trouble with this too. I ended up with Depo 312-1609L-AS which seemed to be for earlier trucks. My harness connector was boogered so I used small female blades right to the lights.

I just used a bracket that came in the kit. I tried to find some pictures for you. I will look some more when I get home tonight.

edit: Found several pics Monte took from setting his up on Igor. It is the same kit and cooler.

Yeah, I had to add some piece in as well to fill the gaps. Another thing that pissed me off was the place for the license plate isnt big enough for a standard plate. A lot of cutting and grinding, kinda bullshit if ya ask me.
