I think I applied that from you putting it up earlier.
    Thank you!

I’m excited. Just checked my tracking. My button and kit comes today. What joy! I’ll have it installed this weekend.

I just asked them directly, they have one built into the kit. Here is their reply directly.

“You do not need a diode it is built into the kit. You will not see any warnings when viewing the camera. There is a lot of misinformation out there, thank you for reaching out to clear it up. Most people just believe what they see and steer clear. The diode I sell separately is for if you want to wire your switches a certain way but it has nothing to do with the operation of the kit. I’m here all day so reach out if you have any questions when you get the kit. Thanks, Brian”

Edit: The “misinformation” part is most likely my explanation, or lack of, the issue I was going over on here. Frankly because I didn’t fully understand. Just so it doesn’t make Brian look bad.

Bit the bullet and grabbed the anytimebackupcam kit. Was going to go after it myself but would rather not fight with the tiny wires behind the radio

That is exactly what my schematic shows. You will need 2 diodes and make sure you install them between the output of each switch (or each side of the switch if using a DPDT) and the signal going to pin 2 on the 28 pin harness.
Also note that in my schematic the power for the front camera will be applied only when you press the front camera switch. Additionally, as drawn, the illumination for the switches will only come on when you press the respective switch.

So is anyone selling the total package together. Sounds complex for new owners no really technical to find switches, front cam, extra diods and then figure out how to put all parts and cut and splice wires and stuff. Yes some easy way would be nice

I searched that user name and read the threads. Thanks.
Sucks, I’m not a electrical guy. Plug n play with ALL the needed parts sold me on it. Oh well have to get out of truck and look the old fashion way I guess.

I waited too long on buying his too. I bought recently the kit from here:

    https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com/shop

Very quick responses so far. I’ll receive it today and install either today or tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it goes.

The kit took me about 15-20 minutes to install. (I had to run to the store because I ran out of electrical tape, so I don’t count that time). Very easy.

This was just the backup camera though. I’m sure the front and back up camera one isn’t that much more difficult.

I just installed the front/rear camera kit it took about 30 minutes. This is a good kit once once you figure out the wiring for the DPDT switch..I emailed Brian and he responded quickly and directed me on the right path. Thank you again Brian.
