We changed wiper fluid nozzles and all the hose, then the good ole gray wire mod. We had to move the ground wire to the 4wd module bolt, after that all went well.

Details on the washer nozzles? Are you happy with them?

The 5-lug spare compared to the PreRunner spare is ridiculous.

Absolutely. Well made, adjustable, fan spray, purchased on Amazon, very easy to replace the nozzles & hoses.

I was looking over my truck today and noticed that my alignment cams on both sides of the truck aren't touching the alignment tabs at all. Does this mean that the tabs are spreading?

interesting... I had a similar issue a while back. Keep me posted, let me know if you find out anything about why they don't fit right.

CAPAs are a waste of money IMO. Can't tell any difference vs nonCAPA except for the useless yellow CAPA stickers. I have heard this before but had to see for myself. I won't be wasting money on CAPAs ever again.

I get wholesale pricing so I'm not sure how useful it would be.

I believe the front doors for the first gen are likely to go NLA soon. When I bought my pair there was only one pair left in central

Some of the emblems are now NLA. The side pillar emblems can't be had anymore and it looks like the rest of the emblems are not far behind

I'm considering going to a manual tube. Don't like all the add parts moving in the add tube.

Did you figure out what broke on yours? I haven't seen any premature wear from having my driveshaft spinning all the time. It is one less thing that can fail.

Manual Hub tube is great. When I did my 4x4 swap, I opted to splurge on the extra money that the manual tube cost instead of just locking the ADD actuator with a hose clamp.

Definitely gives you piece of mind, and confidence that it was done properly.

But boy oh boy was that ADD gear stub a pain in the ass to remove. Most people have good luck just prying it out with two pry bars, but mine was in there good. I ended up having to open the clamshell and hammer it out with a punch and small sledge.

It was actually a blessing in disguise. I was sold a differential being told it was 4.30 to match the rear on my truck. Since I had the clamshell open, I counted the ring and pinion and it was actually 4.10 - if I didn’t take the clamshell apart and used that diff I would’ve destroyed my transfer case.

Thought I'd ask here too. What turbo should I buy and from where for my 3.4L V6? Ebay has Precision and Garrett for about $1500 that's about my budget. Ive gone through 2 Chinese ones I'm done with that. Any suggestions here? I need oil and water cooled 3" vband.

Great info, your last couple of posts on the subject. I assume ADD means something like Auto Drive Disconnect? So it's something like the early XJ passenger side axle sleeve disconnect.

Thanks for the info, again. I am trying to come up to speed on some of the Toyota specific stuff. It's very interesting seeinbg how they sometimes do things a bit different.

I won't be using my truck for a hardcore rock crawler, but I do see a SAS happening in the next few years, mainly to make servicing the engine easier, the truck more durable, and so on. Going SAS with my S10 made everything much, much easier to deal with.
I have two sets of Dana 44 axles sitting in my back yard, only one of which I have plans for. So far my build is looking like a Trail Gear reinforcement kit after I clean up the frame rails, and whatever steering box suits that (researching that now, will soon source a box and rebuild it, put it away for future use) Dana 44 front axle from a Wagoneer (driver's drop), possibly a matching D44 rear axle, and leaf spring sliders in lieu of shackles. I will build my own front spring hanger/bumper mount, largely because I want a front receiver hitch (and am pondering the idea of adding three up front, in order to facilitate a towbar or ginpole).

    Again, many thanks!
