Yea.. it's been quiet all day. Packing for another trip as always - see you guys in a weekish for the Dorset Caves run. Hopefully I have all my camping shit together by then - I reorganized my basement and can't find shit...

 

My wife has that problem too due to me reorganizing the garage every 6 months!

 

Hello all been with out a truck for 2 weeks, got it back last week before the holiday. The Turd gens are a nightmare to say the least. She was reliable this weekend. Hope you all had a good weekend. Will be sending out class iv pm this week. Where did summer go ?

That's just it, since I stopped frequenting the 3rd gen sub forum and my truck is good again. Now it sucks again, or I should say a nightmare.

Honestly, just wondering what's up.

 

Well...I found out (from another thread I made) that the 2nd gen front calipers don't have a traditional banjo/copper washer crush attachment. They are flared into the caliper. So I picked up a 10mm flared wrench at auto zone and a 250Lb torque wrench to do the axel bolt which I am sure will end up spinning the hub before it hits that 175lb it needs. I doubt it was even on at 175LB because my 1/4" dewalt impact driver took that sucker off no sweat..which I find pretty damn impressive if it was 175...

 

I was busy earlier but was gonna say, '87 to new trucks I've never seen a banjo bolt on Toyota 4wd brake setups. 4 piston full floating caliper setup all those years

 

This makes me want to hike a presidential peak... BTW here is the coolest list...These people hit the "pet friendliest" places in each state of the lower 48...I was searching for places to hike with my new dog (as my last was a jackhuahua and not a hiker) and found this

Rear carrier seal leaked 4 times.. and claim issues with dealer. And the TSb springs are still junk, still squeak

That drive is dangerous. So many unmarked roads just asking to be bombed down. Haha.

 

I wish I could get the time to do this run. Maybe next time.
