So I went to swap my superbumps to the new mounts today and I guess 5 +/- years of salt, water, mud etc was enough to corrode the old superbumps to oblivion. The bolts holding the superbumps to the old mounts disintegrated as soon as I took a wrench to them:

    9AA76170-3E7F-4707-A9A0-6E5140F475A0.jpg 3C651108-10ED-4BBB-8D50-119CFC321212.jpg 4667ADEE-7D45-4F98-A659-D3DB22D04B4B.jpg

    Time to order new superbumps.

If anyone has or knows anyone selling a pair, hit me up! Otherwise I will be ordering a set on Monday!!

    Going HAM! (kinda)

Looking to eventually add a ham radio to the comms setup in the rig.

@x250f23x made a bracket for a clean mounting solution in the coin tray to the right of the shifter and won't be making any more. Scooped one up and glad I did. Looks clean and will be functional for my needs.

Also placed my order with Wheeler's for new rear superbumps. I need to take a sawzall to the old mounts and get the spacers off that @Airdog so kindly sent me many, many years ago.

What do a house and trail rig have in common?

    There's ALWAYS something to do!!

    RIP to Pelfreybilt :bananadead::evil::deadhorse:

Grab a beer, pull up a chair as I answer any questions people may potentially have about my thoughts and views about Pelfreybilt and everything happening regarding their situation. This is the result of posting a couple pics in another thread and someone asking about my PB decals and thoughts about what happened.

*DISCLAIMER: This will serve as my ONLY post and response to what is going on regarding this situation. I will update it accordingly with new information as needed and my personal opinions and views based on my experiences and interactions involving Pelfreybilt. This is for entertainment purposes only and not meant to bash any persons involved.*

Q: What PB products are you currently rocking on your rig?
A: Front bumper, full belly and gas tank skids, rear bumper.

Q: Was any of your armor purchased new?
A: The belly skids were purchased new, delivered personally by Tyler and Satin to local TW member @LoadedTaco to Moab and driven back home so I could take delivery.

Q: Is any of your armor purchased used?
A: Front bumper was purchased from @ChandlerDOOM and the rear bumper was purchased from @LoadedTaco.

Q:What are you going to do with all your armor mentioned above? Sell, etc.
A: Keep it. I already have it and it has served me well and should continue to serve me well.

Q: Would you consider selling/trading any of your armor?
A: I mentioned to someone locally that if anyone local REALLY wanted my rear PB bumper (this someone is in the market for a rear bumper specifically) I would consider a trade if they ordered another brand for me with all the specs I want etc, powdercoated, the whole nine yards and I would pay shipping and do a straight swap and help them install once it arrived.

Q: What are you going to do with all your PB swag? Tees, hoodies, decals, hats etc.
A: Probably keeps the tees, hoodies, hats, etc. I likely will remove all of the decals and patches regarding PB from my vehicle, however.

Q: What were your personal feelings based on your interactions with the Pelfreys/Pelfreybilt employees BEFORE this shitstorm?
A: I could not ever say one bad thing about them or my interactions with any Pelfreybilt employee; customer service rep or the owners. While I had not made any MAJOR (bumpers) purchases from them directly, they were ALWAYS willing to lend a hand and give me the time of day. Michael, especially, was phenomenal at helping get my rear bumper restored back to like new condition having purchased it used. Satin even sent my wife and I a care package of Pelfrey swag when she learned that we had purchased a house and got married years ago.

Q: What are your personal feelings based on your interactions with the Pelfreys/Pelfreybilt employees AFTER this shitstorm?
A: Slimeballs. Disgusting human beings. Solid "Poker faces" to be able to still take people's money while knowing they were headed for an iceberg. Which is hard for my brain to process after having nothing but AWESOME customer service from them and their company and only positive things to say about them. Truly heartbreaking after having them, especially Satin, so aware of my personal life. How did they think it was okay to (1) still take money from people knowing this was going to happen and (2) use money from orders to fund personal lifestyle extravagances.

This also is the result of simply growing too fast and wanting to design new products for other vehicles and needing to purchase vehicles to support that R&D. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

They completely went about this the wrong way; I am not saying there is a "right" way to do this, but the way they did it was complete bullshit. Things got out of hand on the forums and investors backed out due to speculations and rumors. Simple as that.

Q: Had Pelfreybilt been able to seek out investors, would they be able to salvage their reputation?
A: Hard to say. Short answer is no. Especially with all the dirty laundry that has been aired out both here and the blame they gave the people causing them to not receive investors and file CH. 7.

However, if, through investors, they could ramp up production and get the wait down to 4-5 weeks or less and truly right their wrongs, MAYBE they could come back from it. They would DEFINITELY have less customers simply due to trust issues.

Q: Do you know anyone, personally (local), that has outstanding orders with Pelfreybilt?
A: Luckily, no. My brother received a bumper from them in Feb/March of this year after placing his order through their Black Friday sale (I believe). I was in the market for a bumper from them in January and luckily one came up locally for sale. Had one not, I MIGHT have been okay and received what I ordered. Hard to say. Really lucked out, fortunately.

Q: Do you know anyone on the forum that has outstanding orders with Pelfreybilt?
A: Being on the forum, I have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with a LOT of awesome people. I am sure there are a lot of people that have outstanding issues and I have not been reading through EVERY post, but my heart truly goes out to them and I hope they are able to get everything worked out to the best of the ability of all parties. Bummer.

Q: Do you think PB armor/gear will be rare going forward?
A: It's kind of a cool thing to have something that you know won't ever be made again. That said, no. No one will be willing to pay a ridiculous price because it's "rare" when they can buy any other armor cheaper than something once made by PB.

Q: Now that Pelfreybilt is no more, what vendors would you recommend for armor?
A: In order for me, personally; Brute Force Fab (Billy is AWESOME; West Coast), Relentless (Eric is great to work with; West Coast), and SOS (Eddy is great too and the products are outstanding; East Coast).

I am not sure if any of this is interesting to anyone, but I thought I would "write" down my thoughts and compose 1 dedicated post to my personal thoughts and feeling about the situation having armor, skids, swag from them and having recommended them COUNTLESS times on FB, IG, TW etc.

Perhaps some good talking points in a follow up video for @boogie3478 "knowing" someone that has dealt with them a lot in the past and I know I saw @Blackout14 in a few threads. The threads just got out of control and hard to follow.

Happy to answer anymore questions or provide a discussion here, but, PLEASE keep it civil. I will be updating this post as seen fit as well.

One of the litany of reasons this was/is such a tragedy....Their PRODUCTS were top shelf. Their service was excellent, and the employees I was in contact with over the years were pleasant and helpful. They had it all going on! I feel for their employees. I feel for those who have lost money. I feel sorry for other vendors who will now live in a world of mistrust because of what happened. We were ALL fooled. There was no "good outcome" for this, but they (Pelfrey's) chose the WORST path. It's very evident by the shear numbers of people they upset that the Pelfrey name is mud going forward in this industry.

I agree that it is now going to be an uphill battle for vendors being in a world of mistrust.

I hope that EVERYONE, vendors included, learn from their mistakes and work on their customer service and communication when hard working people place their money and trust in them to receive a product built right and delivered on time. Just trying to look at it from both sides.

After I posted that follow-up Pelfrey vid I discovered a ton more info on the situation, all making Pelfrey look like complete assholes, and I did think of doing another vid but decided I don't want to get into the business of dragging anyone else through the dirt, even in a situation like this where it appears they certainly deserve it. I figured there's a ton of info on TW now so anyone can read up on the situation.

Same here. I had no clue they EACH had declared bankruptcy in the past.

Everything is out there and it seems to speak for itself now and certainly people can do their own research. I thought it would be interesting to give some perspective from someone with their products and from a standpoint of what their opinions are and where they would go from here having PB mods/armor etc. My advice to you is just move past it and get back to doing mods that make me spend money :spending:

Like I stated earlier, now more than ever, vendor honesty, integrity and communication is key for the next several months to come. Good on all of you guys for leading the way. It's really awesome and I know it will go a long way towards restoring faith in vendors again. I'm not saying there are others like PB, but it was earth shattering to learn, for sure.

Also, I can't remember if you said it here or on IG, I think it was IG, but you released a statement about how the business is doing. All good steps brother and I wish you and other's like you the absolute best and greatest success going forward.

Truly, little things go a long way..
