Can softopper go through car wash?

Hey guys, has anyone taken their softopper through a car wash? Does it leave streaks from wax? Would it be too harsh on the seams?

 

I go trough the touchless and mine is fine

 

I've been through touchless ones no problem. I'm not sure about ones with brushes and whatnot.

 

I take mine through the automatic wash all the time... definitely not touchless and I've never had a problem.

 

Hand wash only for my truck! Did’nt you guys see the imploded fenders on the 3rd Gen Tacomas after going through “Touchless” car washes? They are posted here on TW somewhere.

Besides, now I have racks that wont fit anyways...

 

Yup, the two rear fenders got pushed in by a touchless washer. I forget which post that was in, can look for it later today.

Thats awful. I never go through the touch car washes anymore. Dont want the last guys rocks and dirt scratched into my car.

I dont have an issue with the touchless ones tho. I pressure wash my truck all the time and dont think they use any more pressure than I do on a regular basis. Although now that I have fluid filmed things I probably will stick to washing by hand.

 

There was an obvious overpressure issue on the touchless wash that caused at least two trucks to get fender damage on both rear quarter panels, its very light and bendable metal back there. Its good that you are doing it yourself.
