Do these speakers sound better than JBL Premium?

I would personally say yes. However, most of the JBL systems use 2ohm speakers and these are all 4ohm

Yes, way better in my experience. I had a loaner that had the JBL in it recently and I was underwhelmed. Not a very full sound like this setup. The soundstage was pretty good and perhaps slightly better positioned than this setup, but the overall quality, crispness, and full bass/mid is far better to my ears. Even without a sub, the 3-ways in the doors give off a more pleasing bass response than the JBL sub in trucks equipped with them - again my personal preference anyhow

Compared to my wife's rav4 with JBL, yes it's definitely better. Unfortunately this upgrade isn't for trucks with JBL. In my truck, I can hear words to songs that I can't make out in her car. The bass is also equally as good. Her JBL is muddy. I'm so happy I didn't get the JBL truck.

The rears fit easily after removing tabs.
The front is a little tougher. I put three screws in and then you have to pull speaker and adapter away enough just to kinda get tip of fourth screw in. Then I tightened them down a couple turns at a time as I worked around the speaker.

I was able to get three screws in ok, but the last one I used a pinpoint drill bit and made another hole away from the one in the adapter. It held well for me.

Right yes, left no. The tab for cable goes on top. I was still mocking up one on left. The one on right is complete.

Big thank you to Marv for the two way plug and play cables.

Well, I was going to put my Kicker Key in today but plans changed. Almost hit her with my truck coming home from the gym this morning. Running in the street, no collar tag. Took her to the one vet that’s open on Sunday and they scanned her, but she doesn’t have a chip. Shedded and slobbered all over my back seat, then puked eveywhere as I was pulling into my driveway. But she’s a dog and it’s not her fault so I can’t be mad. Took her to my place, gave her food and water, now to take a walk around the neighborhood where I found her and see if anyone knows who she is. Anyone in Utah missing a pup??

A man after my own heart. Proud of you for making sure she gets home safe! Most people aren’t willing to bring an animal into their vehicle and into their home. She’s a pretty girl so I know someone is missing her. Hope you find the owners!

How much is this costing everyone? Thread title says $240 but with just speakers alone I'm pushing $300.

    $100 for tweeters on Amazon.
    $170 for speakers on Crutchfield
    $20 for Noico mat

Well the noico is optional that wasn’t part of the initial $250, so you’re only about $20 over and the initial thread is old

The tweeters can be found for $82 all over the place.

Keep an eye on Best Buy’s site. They throw the 6.5”s and the 6x9”s on sale all the time. For example, the 6.5”s can be had for $57 right now.

I cannot say this enough, the Subaru tweeters made a world of difference! I also bought a couple of the pioneer 8” subwoofers. They fit behind the rear seats and sound great as well. I have an 1100 watt boss riot amp under the driver’s seat. The replacement door speakers are ordered, just waiting on them to be delivered from Crutchfield.
