Hamilton would be the closest I would get, but my counterpart up there left the company about a year ago. Really bummed me out, because I liked him a lot.

Unless they make a special request for me,I probably won't get up there anytime soon.

It’s been a while since I posted here since I got my SS knob with aluminum core and was extremely pleased. If you’re familiar with the debacle of the user who cerakoted his knob only to have to cut it off his shaft, this post may be interesting.

I was inspired by a post by a user/customer that decided to cerakote his weighted knobnhat he purchased from the OP. Long story short, the customer didn’t do it right and had to cut the knob off the shaft. Then he proceeded to complain about it and that the OP, @7r41lbr34k3r, should be responsible for his own mistake. That’s just lame (and appropriately ridiculed by the moderators).

However, the idea he had for cerakoting the knob was a cool one. I did my research and learned from the previous guy’s mistake and got mine cerakoted. It turned it great.

While the knob was getting coated, I had to use my OEM knob—what a difference the added weight of the SS knob makes. So much smoother combined with the URD short shifter.

Looks great! What specific colors did you use? That blue color filling looks very clean.

Thanks. I’ll have to check on the color I used with the shop—can’t remember.

3 wks to the day, and basically finished.

The V2.0 MT collar design has undergone a minor last-minute revision. Now that I have the proper zip ties in hand (OEM panduit ties that @salmonmigration figured out for us earlier in the thread), I want to widen the groove to enable those to nestle down inside a bit better.

Some of the delrin bits needs polishing also. Notice how some of the bits are darker than others ... still need to hit those with 1200 wet.

I should also probably list spare parts for V2.0, just in case. I'll send two zip ties per knob, because I always seem to need an extra so why not?

All of these will come with the knobs, just getting it down publicly for those who may need to replace something at some point.

3rd Gen V2.0 folks might want to look at this .pdf ... because it perfectly shows how to remove/replace the collar(AT on top, MT is towards the bottom). That .pdf is for a different product but serves as a great illustration for what the install will look like.

It says to use a trim tool for the MT, but I just used my fingers, was very easy to pull up. Obviously, there is no need to read the boot related stuff for their product ... this is just to illustrate how everything fits together down there.

^^ Note: I like to flip the zip tie head the other way though, so it doesn't bulge out so much. Your stock zip tie should already be reversed, so snap a picture of it before you cut it off to aid you later on when you are installing the new collar. Also, the set screw hole on my collar is meant to face the front of the truck, but you can orient it however you like really.

Be careful with the set screw (especially in delrin collars) , as it does not need a lot of torque to do its job.

I got mine today and it’s perfect! Your work is freaking awesome! I picked up a real leather boot on sale a while ago, I can’t wait to pair them up and get it installed.

    Thanks!
