This is where it all started. The first post has info on install. It's tedious but all very easy.

Took the bed rails off, used the tintable raptor liner, to stop bed rails from rubbing paint off and starting rust.

 

This is awesome. Need to get something like this!

 

Spent half the day underneath her, power washing, wire brushing, priming, and painting. Getting ready for a big ol fluid film application tomorrow. Most of the time was spent on my 3 month old super rusty Allpro Exp leaf packs.



Seriously. Installed them the very end of May, hardly any wheeling, no water crossings, no salty winter. Just existing, the powder coating chipped and rusted to all hell. Also realized two of the metal wraps on the leafs are cracked. Quality shit. We will see how they respond to my email. 3 months and already rusted and cracked. Unacceptable!

 

Now just need to wire it up. Thought I has the connectors but nope. Plenty of 4 aut n 3 but no 16

And considering this AAL, any comments on them: My last set of AALs broke... and I wasn’t beating on them.

 

Yeah worked out real nice, and especially for only ~$8 off Amazon.

I originally was hoping to source a nice battery cage but no one makes them for group 27, and the universal ones I found were all too small for my Duracell.

 

I have one as well, sitting around waiting to be installed. Kinda afraid to do it because of the needles.

Honestly, how difficult are they to pop off and put on, without running the risk of breaking?

 

Their website said use two butter knives to gently lever up on either side of the needles and it didn't seem too bad. I made sure the needles were backed up to their zero spot before prying them off the shafts.

Big thing was taking pics of truck running with old setup to show where the needles should be. When finished they should be in same spot when running. Also some sort of diagnostic to the ECU helps to cross reference under running conditions.

 

I added Wheelers AAL to my Baja years ago and have no regrets. I put them in around 30k and I am at 108k now. The only thing is that you have to jack up the rear end a lot higher than you think when putting them in. And I have hauled a lot of weight with them as well. Was thinking about air bags, but couldn't afford them, so took a punt on these and am still happy with the choice.

Yes, and electrical tape at the back around the corner. Peeled it off while was still wet.
