Definitively I always prefered the original bumper on the Tacomas.
But, in severe and permanent off roading conditions, I had to replace it with somethong stronger.

I'm just not sure about the housing? Maybe I can weld the hole up and get a new baffle in the side that got messed up.

I'm only replacing the grille insert part. Rest of the front will remain the same. Have never liked the chrome Toyota logo...

You could weld it up a little bit but I personally don't think it looks that bad on the housing. The housing is pretty thick.

I'm just worried about the hole in the first picture. It was enough to see light and leak oil.

You have to work at it a bit, there's a very sticky neoprene gasket. Once it's out cleanup the site and apply the new one and plug in and put the new light in.

Changed all drain plugs to Dimple Magnetic plugs UNI filter on air pump
Removed, cleaned, anti seeze the 6 bed hold down bolts.
Some had some corrosion but all were tight and needed a breaker bar to remove.
Just some preventative maintenance before the colder weather arrives.

Not sure if they are original or not kinda assuming they are they but if so 185k they were splicer or something like that may be replacements at some point but that one was so locked up it had to be cut out.

Hey @gabbo2112, can you snap a night time picture of your new badass third brake light in action? I'm on the fence with that mod, being a safety issue and what not. Thanks in advance!

They fit real good. The backs were like fitting 10 pounds of stuff into a 5 pound bag. The instructions were easy to follow.
