I have a center dash rattle, wondering if I can pull the radio to see what is going on. Looked, could not find video or images of what things look like around the stereo. Is there a cage, or are things pretty open once the head unit is pulled?

You'll pull off the trim pice and there's 4 screws holding the head unit in. Problem is you don't get alot of play in the cables so you'll want to unplug alot of them. Should give you enough room to look around and see if you can find your rattle anyway

Are you sure it's the radio? Usually it's the right speaker grille rubbing on the pillar trim?

Either way, both are easy to get out.

Yes, I had my fun with that as well. I don't think the radio is the source, seems to be in the hollow closer to the windshield. If I really wanted to go all-in, I would just pull most of the front trim and pull the dash. Figure I will pull the radio first and see what kind of access that gets me. Looking up from the driver footwell isn't giving me much. Just started this at the 25,000 mile mark. joy

    Sounds good.

The radio is a piece of cake to get out.

Pull off the dash trim with the center vent outlets by hand. Just pulls directly off. I believe that someone with a JBL unit damaged theirs? I've had mine off probably ten times (non-JBL).

The head unit is held in with four 10mm screws. It is connected with several cables. Just pop those out and start rooting around?

On mine, there are a lot of unused connectors in the wire bundles (non-Tech, non-Prem, non-keyless start). Maybe one of yours worked its way into a bad spot?

Oh boy! My apologies for a missed opportunity:

I don't know how that slipped my mind.
