And then the fun ended there lol.
On the way back from Moses lake the Taco fan pulley blew and took out a few parts along the way. Had to get it towed back home. Finally finished buying all the parts last week and will start on the recovery hopefully this weekend.

It happened on the freeway at about 65mph, just a heads up to anyone this happenes to your looking at a hand full of parts. Here’s a list of what I have to replace:
    Fan
    Fan pulleys
Fan clutch (old one might still be salvageable but I decided to get a new one any how.
    Engine cooling fan pulley
    Fan shroud
    All 3 belts
    Radiator

And while doing this fix i thought it would be a good idea to replace the stock thermostat to a Safe-T-Stat 170 from Napa.

Parts list is attached bellow if you need part numbers in the future.

Also picked up some AllPro EXPO leafs since my OME Dakar leafs with AAL arnt holding up to my travel weight. I plan to add a metal bumber in the back with a roof top tent so I may even need to add a leaf to my expo’s. But that’s a ways out.

Picture bellow. I got 2 dirt bikes a tool box, spare tire and camping gear and it was sagging. Usually the back sits 1” higher over the front when I have just my tool box and spare in the bed.

Finally finished the repair. Only thing missing is the fan shroud. Also FYI the radiator is not stock. I decided to upgrade it to a 3 row radiator from Champion radiators.
Took the truck out today and it ran 200-206. Not sure what it was before and this is temp without the fan shroud. I’m guessing temp will drop down once it’s installed.

Here is a link to a good write up by @1997tacomav6 for the radiator upgrade, Incase anyone is interested.

Yup you have to have the shroud installed , but looks good,

Another update, last week I picked up a bed rack from @RansomFTW. He went above and beyond to help me out with my project. He had cut the rack down to a decent shipping size and had his coworker drive it up all the way from Helena, Montana to Seattle WA. It’s awsome to have people like him on TW.
Now for the rack I’m working on came from a Tacoma with full size bed. In order to fit my Double cab I had to cut out 11” from the rack. I also plan to have the center bars removable. The benefit would be if I need to transport something bigger and the bars would be in the way and also if I ever need to remove it and put it in storage, it won’t take up to much room. At this point I got it all cut and connected with couplings just need to get my welder back from a buddy to finish welding it together. Here are some picks of the progress:

This is an awesome build! You've done some pretty sic work on this truck. That welding of the new cab piece was some impressive work.

How do you hold your spare in place in the bed of the truck?

Thanks, it’s still got a little more to go until I’m done, we’ll thats until I find more things to do to it lol.
and the spare used to just lay in my bed but after I put on the allpro rack I put a basket on top and used a fab tech tire holder to hold it in place. Here are some pictures.

Went out to Crystal Springs Sno-Park, did a little bit off road mudding. Didn’t get much pictures but here are a few. Now all the truck needs is a proper wash.

    Taco Tuesday mod night!!!

So tonight I finally swapped out my OME leaf springs to my AllPro expo’s. Did it by myself and only took about 2 hours. Probably spent a good half hour checking my tacoma world updates... lol, Anyhow it wasn’t to bad.
Here are a few comparison pictures of before and after and during the prosses. End result I’m sitting about 1” higher in the rear now which matches my front. Still need to break them in and see how much they will settle.
Ome Dakers with add a leaf I had sitting at 39 1/8”, now with the all pro expo the truck is at 40 1/8”. If I had to guess I probably have about 600-700 pounds in the back of the truck at the moment (for reference).
Also the dakar leafs with add a leaf are up for sale. Only about 5k miles on them. Yes they are dirty due to the trip above, still can’t wash all the mud from the last trip. I’m sure they will clean up ok. Let me know if any one is interested.
OME Dakar with add a leaf:AA418031-301B-4BA8-8B30-91FCB6B2CB6E.jpgFA9CFABD-FD72-4D0C-AF13-2946E1C018FA.jpg
    After with AllPro Expo’s:

And here are more pictures during the swap. It’s verry simple swap.

A few months ago we made a trip out to Tahuya. Had a small hiccup on the trail. The damage was a bent drive shaft, bent fuel tank. No one around to help us out. We where on one truck. Using my hilift jack it took us a little under 4 hours to recover. Had to take the shaft off to make it home in front wheel drive. Few days after I got back, I dropped off my drive shaft to get re-tubed. Took them 2 days to get it back to me and they ended up going with a 3.5” shaft instead of the original 3”.
Today I swapped out the fuel tank and installed low Range fuel skid plate.
Here are some pictures of the progress.

Also while I had my gas tank off I decided to measure exactly how much gas the 18 gallon fuel tank holds. The fuel tank was compleatly empty. I put 5.4 gallons to get to the gas station which was .2 miles away from me. And I filled up 13.6 gallons. So total was 19 gallons.
