What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Picked up a new roll ( couldn't find the one I already have ) of 3M Emblem Tape and some JB Weld. I can't even imagine trying to replace a letter that went South.
The tape supplied with these knock off grilles is woefully inadequate! "An ounce of prevention. .......!"
Appreciate the input from all who've installed these grilles.

 

Passenger side is legitimate recovery, drivers side is for looks!

 

Could be an issue with the wheels as well. I had this same issue after mounting some high quality after market wheels. No amount of balancing, including Road Force would resolve it. Went back to Toyota wheels and the problem went away. The after market wheel company told me that this happens once every couple of years...nothing wrong with the wheels, just a particular truck that doesn’t like the offset. Luckily, I was able to return those wheels.

Was it difficult to install the Viper remote start? Is it truly plug n' play like they say or does it involve more intensive electrical work?

 

From the time I bought my taco till it hit 3000 miles I have averaged 15/16 MPG. At 3000 I installed a lift and 285/70/17 tires and still average 15/16 MPG. I have no other weight in the truck. Something doesn't make sense here?

 

I have a off-road MT that is basically stock. When I try like yesterday I hit 20.5 typically but when I drive normal it’s 18-19. Only time I have gotten that low (16) was when I needed to really book it and was accelerating quickly on stop and go Over 15 miles.

 

Differences in transmission, cylinder count, terrain, foot (mine is a bit heavy), traffic, stop lights vs stop signs, vs roundabouts etc. All of this makes a HUGE impact on your MPG. EDIT: 2x4 vs 4x4 as well.

I am stock v6-auto excluding MBRP exhaust, which really made no change in my MPG, and I am in FL so it is flat as can be. Life average on the truck is right at 20 MPG. This includes a few towing sessions which gave me 13-14 MPG. I typically do no highway driving on my daily commute of 17ish miles each way. Top speeds are about 55-60 and the trip tells me the average speed is far lower mid 20's to 30. My trip mileage in is usually about 19 give or take a few tenths. Same roads going home give me 20 to 22.5 depending on traffic, normally about 21-21.4.

The all time best trip MPG that I recall was 23.?. We take the wife's Rav, which get better MPG and the wife is comfortable driving, on road trips unless we need to haul something.

just normal maintenance and had to have a rear ABS cable replaced because I had a 18 wheeler tire blow out in front of me doing 70 on I5.

@mesojdm to the rescue yet again. Turn a $100 mod into a really inexpensive mod. I have all the parts for mine, and am planning on doing this on the weekend. I spent about $15 on parts...all you are paying for in this kit is the convenience of the associated parts into a kit and their bracket.

Got a Bakflip mx4 tonneau cover installed today. I've got a few small gaps to fill to help waterproof it but I like it so far.
