You would have to look at the radio to see if it says JBL on it.

Scrolling thru my old pictures and in guessing no, but this is the only picture I have of the radio. I might have cropped off the JBL logo.20180903_221129.jpg

There was a Premium & Tech package with JBL and a Premium & Tech package w/o JBL. It would be listed with the P&T package on your sheet. Since yours doesn't have it, I'd say no you don't have JBL.

Does this tweeter upgrade work for 2nd gens as well?

I have a 2015 DCSB with Entune Audio Plus. Non-JBL
    Thanks

Sorry for asking this but were getting to 20 pages I don't want to sift through; But, what are the biggest changes in sound? More bass, more treble, more clarity, or just amplifies better at lower volumes? I'm on the fence about this and need some good justification to buy these.

Am I understanding correctly that you got these to work on a 2nd gen Taco? If so, mind sharing how you went about it?

    Thanks!

All of the above. I couldn’t believe for under 100 bucks how much better the quality is. It’s a fantastic upgrade.

I just ordered these and they'll arrive early next week. Really seems like they'll make a noticeable difference in audio quality.

Read this whole thread and now plan to upgrade front and rear doors over the next month or two. I need to do some reading cause I don't have a clue what component speakers are vs the Kicker plug n' play options. The Rockfords look like a good alternative to the Kickers but I feel the simplicity of plug n' play made this an easy decision for me.

How hard is the install of the dynamat/noise deadening? Easy enough to reach behind the door panel to apply it? Do you apply it to both levels of the door's depth or rather, does it make a difference if you do both?

Pardon my ignorance, and thanks to everyone who's provided info on the install and outcome!

edit: also... anyone out there done a true comparison between the CS and KCS Kickers (44KSC69304 vs 43CSC6934)? Worth the extra $50 bucks?

@TacoJuan. Will these fit in the same location as the OEM tweeter in the 2nd? Is the plug the same?

Ordered mine off of Amazon a few days ago and they're supposed to come in today! Should be ordering the front and rear door speakers soon. I've been looking for a simple audio upgrade for a while now and am excited to find one so simple and affordable!

Grab some off that Noico Sound Deadener off Amazon to put in the doors when you do the speakers.

I've read about that stuff and was on the fence. Does it make a big difference with this upgrade?

My personal opinion is that it is a good investment, the doors on my truck feel more solid and there was no better time to do it since I had the door panels off to do the speakers.

Installing the sound deadening was easy its just like putting stickers on a window. I just stuck it anywhere I could on the metal surfaces of the doors. :)

It was night and day for me. Although I went even further and installed all new speakers after doing this job.

I only knew from seeing it on the internet on various boards.

I honestly haven’t done it yet. It’s on my list of things to do lol. From my understanding the plug is different but they fit location wise. Should be able to splice in your old plug
