Really? Hmmm...I’m at Freeman right now. We’ll see, I bought it from them so maybe. My VIN falls under the TSB.

Wasn’t that the reason for the TSB?

Doesn’t seem likely they will do it for me today. He said the dont have time but he wants to schedule an appt so they can run diagnostics and test drive it to determine if it needs it. Not sure if he understood. He seemed pretty frazzled.

So far my dealer, Sterling McCall Toyota in Houston, has been great. I tell them my issue(s) and ask them there is a tsb for this issue(s) and they do it gladly. Great customer service. The dealer I had issues with is Mike Calvert. Will never use them again even though they are very convenient to me. They told me they will not perform any tsb's unless a Toyota rep comes out and test drives this vehicle. I would have to leave it with them for over a week without a loaner. This tells me that Mike Calvert is in trouble with Toyota or has major issues with Toyota.

Interesting...can’t understand why a dealer wouldn’t just do it. Then again I don’t run a dealership so I have no idea.

I had to setup an appt for them to keep the truck all day and run diagnostics on it. Will a dealer other than where you bought from perform this? I don’t think my dealer knows what this is. He thought it was a recall and then I explained it and he said “so it drives like an auto, that’s normal.”

I had mine done at Lithia Toyota in Abilene. The service guy at the desk was super cool but I still "casually walked" by and spoke with the tech working on my truck. He said that he couldn't replicate any issues. I then asked him if he would do the flash anyways and he was like "sure, I've done it for quite a few trucks and people report that it makes them drive better. I couldn't tell any difference, but whatever makes you happy" he said with a smile. Real cool guy.

Just re-plugged my shift sense back in. After two months without it after the TSB 62-18 my transmission is as bad as ever with shifting at any incline and all over the map. I’m almost ready to give up with the truck! SSP is helping somewhat again. What are others doing?

I wasted my time at Freeman, look like they are understaffed or overbooked with work, Hansel in Petaluma is lot better. Because of this, took my truck for service at Hansel last time, only waited couple of hours.
Any dealer can perform a TBS, or recall

I had a tuner on a previous diesel truck that made more torque than four Tacoma's. The company that made the tuner updated it frequently with drivability updates and it drove smoother and better than stock. It would also run twelves as a almost 4 ton truck. It would be so nice if manufacturers did the same with their factory vehicles.

Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to have much a positive effect at all for me.

Just had this done today on my 2017 at my dealer. (They also did the AC Blower recall....wasn’t having any problems and didn’t know about that one, but hey - new blower motor)

I guess it’s a bit better, but I was hoping for greatness. For those of you that did it, did your dealer do the sticker under the hood as called for in the TSB? Nothing in mine... so makes me wonder if it was really done.

Doesn't sound like it applies to many 2018's?

I didn't get a sticker either, but I checked and verified it with my scan tool.

So I know that I'll probably catch a lot of crap for this, but even after the TSB, I felt that the throttle control through the pedal was still garbage. I went out and bought a pedal commander for my truck. Ladies and gentlemen... Let me tell you... It has changed my life.
