I have gone through several threads and here is my build plan. Yes I have searched several threads and still not finding what I want to see. Its happening in a few weeks when the shop has me scheduled. I'm starting with a new 2018 TRD 4wd sport dc long bed. I'm doing the 5100s front and rear with a 1 inch block. Looking at 265/70/17 BFGs KO2. The shop is very well known and trust them as friends have used them for years. I want to keep a factory ride, maintain factory mud flaps, slight rake, keep somewhat same gas mileage, all in all just a little beefier look without the sacrifice of hurting ride, gas mileage and cutting or trimming. Just no issues. What is the thoughts on the grey 17 inch 4 Runner Pro wheels against Silver Sky truck with the BFGs white letters out. I don't think rubbing will be an issue. Or keep my Sport wheels which I do like.
    Questions
    1. Keeping my stock coils, do I set them on the 2nd to highest level?
    2. 1 inch block bad? I understand its not the best, axle warp is not really an issue, I have heard with just an inch its okay.
    3. Keep my factory Sport wheels or my other choice is the 4Runner Pro SEMA in grey with BFGs white letters out.
    4. The wheels/tires must not come out past the fenders so I'm thinking the 17 Pro wheels would have the right offset paired with the 265/70s ?
    5. My GPS on my phone shows 64mph with the cruise set at 65. Will this make the speedo calibrate to being perfect?

    Objectives
    1. Keeping a great ride, wheels/tires not past the fender.
    2. If the BFGs have an issue balancing out next tire is a Nitto Grabbler 2 or Toyo AT2s.
    3. Keeping slight rake, no rubbing, must keep mud flaps.

    Things I'm not doing
    1. No serious off-roading just a little beach driving or dirt roads and some snow if we get any. Nothing more than a few inches.
    2. Not looking anymore at 285/70s either on factory wheels with spacers or on the Pro wheels. Just don't want rocks and other things kicking up on the sides.
    3. Not adding new coils or leafs.
    4. No rock crawling around my parts, just malls.
    5. Not putting E rated tires.

I might consider 285/70/17 Nitto grabblers or Toyo at2s with a wheel spacer which would be needed. I can get them in a c or sl ratting to help the ride, save some weight. Would that work and not come out past the fender flares and would I need to recalibrate. There shop truck has this set up and the power was a little lacking but when compared to my GPS is was only off a few mph.

I did 5100's with OME 888's, FN Fx Pro wheels 0 offset to pull them out a little, Dakar HD leaf springs (I pull an almost 4000 lb boat) and really like the ride. When it is time to change out the rubber, am thinking about skinny type tires (255's), here they keep a closer fuel mileage than others. Right now with what I got installed, I am averaging about 21-22mpg still. My gas mileage actually went up when I installed the lift and some other items.

Depending on your budget you can do what I did to my daily driver, just under 2inches front and back to maintaining factory rake, running Nitto Terra Grapplers in 265/70/17 C load (42lbs).
5100s all around, front set to zero with 885 springs, rear 5100s with a 3 leaf progressive leaf and the overload left in. No need for trimming or cutting to run that tire size.

New coils on the 5100s will make the ride much better than compressing your stock coils, the 3 leaf AAL will eliminate the potential for axle wrap that's possible with blocks. Springs and the 3 leaf are about $325 in parts.

I've been running it a year and a half now, love the setup.

Update, the truck is going into the shop for 5100s front and back. The front should be on the 2nd or 3rd notch to get about 1 1/2 in the front and a 1 inch block in the rear. Looking to keep a slight rake, but not as much as the factory rake. The 1/4 inch shim for the lean and a ECGS needle bearing kit while they are in there. Also adding the TRD 17 Pro 4 Runner wheels in grey with Nitto Grapplers 2 in size 265/70/17 SL rating. Hopefully this mild lift, light tire combo will serve me well. This shop is very reputable and known for turning out great work.

I picked up my truck today and just completely satisfied with the end results. 5100s on the 4th setting and a one inch block in the rear, added the 1/4 spacer to correct the taco lean and ECGS clamshell as a little insurance. I went with the 265/70/17 sl toyo at2 on Matt grey Pro TRD wheels. I had a well respected off road shop do the job. It was as turn key as one could expect. Allignment was perfect, tires balanced out with hardley any weight, aired up to 30 lbs cold, no tpms light on, drives and rides amazing. If you have a sport or off road don't fear the Bilsteins 5100 using factory coils. I would like to have changed them out but advised to try it like this before doing them. All in all I'm just mostly amazed of the stance with this tire and wheel combo, the ride and the driveability.

Is that parking lot leveled, or do you think it looks even front and rear?
I also set mine on the 4th notch, and debating to install 1" rear blocks that I already have just laying around.
    Thank you in advance.....

Nice to see everything worked out.

I’ve installed 5100s on stock coils with 1.1” lift, it settled about .5” and a single AAL on the back which added about a 1”. Also, did ECGS and installed everything myself total $480. It drives great and quite stiff which is what I wanted.

The first pic has my old wheels and tires, old shocks, a bed mat and a factory bed cover, so there is a lot of weight in the bed. Plus the parking lot at my work is not level. Here is some more pics to see. Also I think the ride is a lot softer, nowhere near as stiff as the Sport suspension. It floats like a Cady.IMG_20181009_181822806_HDR.jpg IMG_20181009_175650950_HDR.jpg IMG_20181009_182148344.jpg

You will lose 1-3mpgs with a one size up tire. Don’t do Toyos unless you like heavy ass tires. Some others to consider are Falken Wildpeaks, Cooper AT3, and Hankook Dynapro ATM. The Falken are heavier because they are a 6-ply, but the other two are very light. I had the Hankooks on my other taco and they were pretty good for just about everything but deep mud and snow...just my 2 cents

255’s will net you better mileage and may actually perform better for your needs. 285’s weigh ALOT more

My TRD wheels are lighter than my Sport wheels and the Toyos we're 40 lbs. I think it balanced out really well on the weight, plus I got a SL 265/70/17 ply tire, not a C or E rated. Gas milage hasn't dropped at all. Rides better, quiet tire, 65k mile warranty on them and 500 mile trial offer, to take them back and get something else. I didn't gain any weight on the four corners, about the same rotating mass. Oh and checking the GPS on my phone against the speedo with cruise on is near dead on perfect.

How is the ride on the road? Stiff or soft?

Softer in a good way. I like the ride and handling better than stock. I heard so much mixed reviews about springs, add a leafs, blocks. I'm very happy with the ride.

Thank. Got about 2 3/4 on the front. I did a one inch block in the rear. There is about a 1/2 rack, they measured before and after.
