Any help or advice would be appreciated!
So I recently started noticing that when I drive over a ditch, bump, or railroad, I can see my bed shake a lot our of my driver side mirror, i do not notice alot of movement out of my passenger side (that could be because its not as close). Is this normal for tacomas, i never noticed this problem with my old Ram truck. Is this something that everyone experiences or should i take it in to dealership? Thanks for the help!

This is something that I haven't paid attention to. It is possible it could just be the bed and frame flexing a little bit over those bumps. Does the bed feel loose?

Bed flex is good, it’s on a frame with coils and springs

Maybe he means the manhole covers for the fuel reservoirs at the gas stations.

It is normal. The bed is separate from the can for this reason. You can always put these on to maintain the shape of the bed from warping over time:

Just wondering if you ever figured anything out with this or if it is normal. My 2018 is doing almost exactly what you are saying and the passenger side doesn’t seem to be moving at all.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but my new to me '22 does this bed shake also on slightly rougher roads, and I don't recall seeing this happen with my other trucks over the years.

I live on a paved county road, and there are lots of divots / potholes / frost damage / etc - not smooth like new pavement. My truck bed visibly shakes while driving down this road. The cab does not shake like the bed does.
I stopped to just try to wiggle the bed in case something wasn't bolted down tight enough or... and it seemed like it was okay. I didn't notice extra movement or anything like that. Guessing however the bed is mounted to the frame is allowing for this wiggling on rough roads.

Guess I'm asking if anyone else has found that there is something that needs to be checked or tightened? Or completely normal for our 3Gs? (My 4G did not do this).

And you've already referenced post #5?

That's the way the frame is designed.

Isn't there a longer version of that video that compares the Tundra's crazy bed shaking to an almost shake free F150? If that's the definitive answer (that's how it is designed), then my truck is good then.

    yes, there's a longer video

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWjTbiYo3x0

but the point here is that the frame design is a part of the vehicle cost. the 3rd gen was a $30-50k pickup. it's going to have parts that are cost-engineered to that level.

a $300k-minimum pickup gets you this kind of frame flex
