Just looking at ideas and noted there is quite a bit of room between the grill and the AC condenser. Plus, it can be close to the battery.

    Any thoughts?

I was also thinking about this, but wouldn't put it behind the plastic grille.

In my truck, I was looking at mounting a compressor in the space directly behind the battery- less likely to cause damage and more protected from the elements.

    Future mod for me.

I havent seen one there. Though I know some people have mounted them in the engine using the 2nd gen Slee offroad mount and a modified bracket which a member on this forum makes.

I wouldn't mount it close to plastic, there just looks like a cavernous space there.

Slee bracket behind the air box. Seems like the only logical choice.

This was my first choice location. Unfortunately I am going dual battery in the future so went with the next best location; drivers side bed cubby hole. I’ve used it a few times and it’s very convenient, plus hidden out of sight.

same boat, curious where the switch is for this. Compressor came with the harness, but since youre opening the hood to connect air hose anyway, no need for cab mounted on/off right?

Switch is to the left of the steering wheel in the extra slot.
You're right about it not needing to be in the cab.

It's red and protects from dust ;)
Not sure if I put the part number in my build thread or not. I took the fitting with me when buying parts and found one that fit.

I've got the same setup sitting in packaging, waiting to be installed.

What is that red cover you have over the air chuck, and where do I get one?

I posted that info 15 minutes before your reply :)
I went and found it in my build thread: Cap (P/N QA16DC) from Hose Pro's.

I like the idea of mounting one of these in the bed, away from the hot engine bay. I've heard reports of them failing after only a year or two when kept in the engine bay. I also don't want to lose a bed cubby because I use them. I keep wondering if they can be mounted in between the bed and the side of the truck. Sort of where the bed cubby is but not inside that cubby. Maybe with a splash gaurd. I need to crawl under the truck and take a look. Surely someone has already tried this, though?

I believe those are for hydraulic connectors fwiw. Might make it easier to track down.

Not behind the grill, that's where the Turbo Intercooler is going. :(
