    Hi guys,

Just got my Dakar leaf springs in from Headstrong off road but they sent me one heavy duty and one medium duty. I had ordered the mediums.

My question for everyone is the only difference between Dakar el095R and the el096R one leaf?

If so, I have no problem taking the leaf out. Wanted to instal this weekend, but if I should return it i will.

    Again, thanks in advance.

I believe that is the only difference. Others can correct me if I'm wrong.

So remove the 3rd leaf from the top correct? And if anyone has the leaf spring tourq settings that would be awesome.

Remove the third leaf down in the 96R pack to make them both the same. There’s no torque requirement for the centerpin if that’s what you were asking.

not sure but I think I read you need a new center pin if removing a leaf and the pins are different size between the 2 leafs.

He can just cut the pin shorter after removing a leaf if needed.

I remember reading the threads weren't long enough. I could be wrong though.

He's removing a leaf, so it shouldn't be an issue. If he's adding a leaf, then yes, the pin could be too short.

Don’t forget about the taco lean like me and just wanted to get the Dakar’s on. In the next few weeks I’m going to fix my 1” lean in the rear :angrygirl:

    Crises adverted

Removed the 3rd leaf from the top. Had plenty of bolt length since I was going down in size. Did notice a little bit gap size on the bottom leaf, but I’m sure that will just compress out once it gets some weight on it.

Would really like to read up on this if there is a thread on it? I was not aware of a rear lean with the Dakars, an inch seems significant. What’s going to be your solution?

Great looking leafs compared to the factory ones. Couldn’t imagine throwing an AAL in those.

I knew it was going to happen, but was not sure how much lean there would be. 99% sure there is nothing on left and right springs. Just front and back (bought when 96s first came out last year and there was almost no info on them). I bought the HDs and removed one overload. So I will probably install the overload I took out on the driver side. It won’t make it perfect but it will be closer.

Yup you got it OP just remove the 3rd leaf down to make the 96 pack a 95.

That stated, look at the packs if one is a + and the other an O or - spec (there will literally be those symbols on the top leaf painted in yellow). Put the + on the driver side.

PRetty sure mine came both with +s. Weird. I’ll have to double check tonight

nothing weird about two +'s but if you had one that was less than a + put it on the passenger side to aid with taco lean.
