But as I told you I was on the 4/5 notch before and it was the same exact ride on 5/6

Numerous people are on 6/5 setting

I have mine set at 6/5 and I think the ride quality is just fine. I’m glad I went with that setting.

I don’t do any crazy off roading, but it’s pretty smooth on bumpy forest service dirt roads at 35 mph.

I installed my 6112’s at the 5/6 setting on my 2018 Tacoma and I do not regret it one bit . I love it . Sure , it’s a little more firm than the stock setting but no kidding ,,,It’s a truck !! I’m not seeing this “ to harsh” that folks are saying . It rides like butter with some firmness like a truck was meant to be . I find it hard to believe that unloading the springs by 1/4” is going to make this massive difference .
So many people today want a truck to ride like their grandma’s Cadillac , and that’s ok if that’s what your looking for , but many of us want that “truck” feel.
My Tacoma is fine at 5/6 and I really like the setting . . I’m just not looking for that luxury car ride .

    Hey Guys-

2 questions... are the Superbumps front & rear + All Pro Ubolt Flip Kit necessary, or was that a nice-to-have?

Also, the whole part of cutting the clamp and retainer when adding the 3AAL... is that necessary on every set, or does it depend on how each individual truck is positioned

Not necessary to do the unlit flip kit or superbumps, lots of people don’t even change them out. Ubolt flip is more clearance in the rear and gives the setup a better look.

And yes for the 3leaf, you have to modify your leafs.

Thanks. Wheeler's told me that I might have to modify it depending on where my clamp is and where the springs were manufactured. Couple of older threads suggested not all of them require it, it depends on your truck. I take it cutting the OEM clamp off doesn't affect anything either way?

EDIT: This was Wheeler's response: "I think it more depends on where the factory springs were manufactured.
There is new alignment clamps on the AAL if you do have to remove any.
Unfortunately I cant say for sure but it is a possibility.
    "

How many of you guys are running 285/70-17’s with this suspension setup. I’m fixing to install mine before to long and my wife’s Jeep JL will fit 35’s stock so I was thinking about getting her new tires and putting her 285’s on my truck. It’s a win win situation if no issues rubbing I have a set of methods on my truck so it’s not factory offset think they are 7.5” if I’m not mistaken.

@Rob Daman made a video on it. The correct way is to grind it off. I also did mine this way when I had an aal

Yeah I saw that. One of the comments suggests that newer trucks (I have a 2018) might have newer leaf packs with the clamps positioned differently... and I guess the newer sets of AAL's switch the position to accommodate? IDK... just a comment I saw on that video. Would be nice if I got lucky and didnt have to grind/cut.

Also, on a side note... how did Rob get around 2" of lift? I thought the PRO suspension was only 1" higher on our trucks?

    magic

That's exactly what many thought too when they started to go on sale but everyone was getting even more until it settled.

Here's a pic I took a few days ago. Keep in mine I have 285/75 now vs the 265/75 in the YouTube pic

I have a 2018 and I have to remove the stock leaf pack clamps . Wheelers 3 pack
lands right on the factory clamp .

So getting rid of this clamp... does it compromise the leafs engineering/ stability at all? Or does the new clamp from the AAL sort of replace it? Also does it say anything about it in the instructions from Wheelers?
I’m having this installed so wouldn’t want the person to wonder what’s going on

Rob you know what I’m probably thinking? The new Fox pro suspension. That’s only a 1” lift correct? Maybe the 2015 Bilstein you have gives more?

If your worried about that don’t get the aal and just buy a full leaf pack. Plenty of people run the 3leaf aal this way.

Already bought it! But sounds like it’s ok if it’s expected to install that way from the companies that make them

No your impressions are correct. I thought it was 1 inch no matter which. well at least not nearly 2 inches.
