Eric and Brian, Thanks! We've been looking at both Adventure Ready and the Mule for our needs. Good to hear the Odyssey and ML ACR are a solid option as that's what we'd prefer. Best, -C

Haha, I guess I believe that. It's more about being up to my personal standard. We'll see.
Either way, I'll make sure I start using the DSLR with that in mind. Plus I've got tires going on this week, so...

I just looked at the 3rd gen thread. I don't think mine is a contender anyway, but I don't even want to compete with this one from @danneskjold.
The Drifter crew should definitely just unify behind that one, at least for 3rd gens.

Alright, I found a better quality one from the same morning and threw it up there.
...But I'm still voting for @danneskjold.

Not an official video yet, but there's a video I made that highlights a few things on the Drifter.

Edit: I have experimental latches on my camper that will not be on any production campers.

I forgot to note I have some experimental latches that will not be going into production. The latches we are currently using have no compromises while these look cool but have their quirks.

Cool to see it empty! I have been trying to explain this thing to people, but it's kinda hard to describe. This video will help.

For those who have built out drawers, fridge slides, etc. Do you still use the truck for truck errands? How hard is it to remove the drawer system if you wanted to go get some sheets of drywall or something?

Uhaul - $19.99 for a truck rental is how I do the more bulky chores. Now that I no longer am embroiled in a multi year long renovation, I am building out the bed of my truck. Yes, it’s an extra $20 for a chore, but worth the peace of mind knowing that I don’t have to worry about “managing” my bed for a future project.

My truck lost "truck" functionality when I got the bed rack and RTT several years ago. It's funny, now I transport 4'x8' sheets (sheetrock, plywood, etc) on the roof racks of my wife's Honda Fit haha. Granted, I live behind Home Depot :D

One thing worth mentioning is that Iggy has an access cab and 6' bed. For those of us with a 5' bed, the cushions are different in that the overhang portion (section that is over the cab) is about 50" long, while the extended portion (section that is moveable and normally sits over the truck bed) is 30" long - both versions equal an 80" bed, just will look different for 5' vs 6' beds.

    Iggy/Phil - correct me if I'm wrong

You are correct! The truck bed is shorter so the overhang on the cab is longer. Because the of this the bed extension is about 13” shorter but the fixed portion of the bed is about 13” longer.

Thank you for the video. I cant wait to get mine now from watching your video. I feel like I need to place my order today, but I am not quite ready yet.

Since the cab overhang is so long for the short bed tacoma vs long bed. Is there any structural compromises for the overhang since the left of the sleeping area will act as a fulcrum and put excess load on the hinge over time? I would not want that area where the overhang begins over the cab to buckle or fatigue overtime. Especially off roading when additional forces are into play.
