That’s why you don’t use anything but your hand....or at least that’s all I do. Quarter turn past a firm stop. Makes me able to swap filters all my hand. No leaks.

EDIT: didn’t read everyone else’s reply to hand tight haha, seems like we’re all in agreement

A quarter turn past the point of sharp torque rise. I remember reading that, somewhere long ago...

Excuse my laziness if you have already explained. Can't remember where I saw you post about picking up the NST supercharger crank pulley. If that is true how did you manage to get them to produce one for you?
I thought they were discountinued for quite some time and definitely not available according to their website.

I reserve replies only for members who have been willing to do some due diligence and look for what I have been up to before further asking any other questions already answered.

I'm totally kidding. I just like to give everyone on here chit just for fun. :D

I guess I must be special because the day after I ordered they shipped, so either they had some in stock, or they had some leftovers from prior batches. Either way it is a stock size crank pulley and not the oversized unit they used to sell.

I had a tear run down a cheek before I read you were kidding.
Ah that clears it up, I thought it was the overdrive pulley.
I am on their mailing list and they are constantly offering 20 percent off, to the point it almost seems desperate. Ive contemplated orderng the pulley set
(crank, alternator, water pump) but just wasn't fully sold on the gains. Let us know if you think you've gain anything even if it's the most miniscule amount, I'll be pressing the buy button.

I personally would not run the overdrive pulley at any point as due to the fact the the qwikchange pulley is now a well known mod it is much easier to do that work once and cry once about it and have 5he ability to swap sizes on the fly than do the overdrive and risk interference issues with the tensioner pulley/ serpentine belt all for a gain that is equal to a 2.8 pulley.

Was more liking the fact that the option was now back on the table; should a day come by that I subconsciously decide to blow the engine by slapping on the overdrive pulley + 2.3":D. It would mitigate slipping issues by going smaller than the already small 2.3".

Oh yeah the option is as of right now off the table. Me personally I'd rather deal with slipping upper pulleys than potential interference issues in the serpentine system. Slip is easier to combat than something which has the potential to cause headaches with the integrity of the system down the road, and given how close the fan clutch is to the tensioner and how everything is just a close configuration down there period I'd rather keep it all stock sized.

Before and after each mod is too subjective. Based upon altitude, relative temperature the mod is tested in, and where exactly the vehicle in the modding process. Sometimes adding a mod will compliment a previous mod more so it will give more power due to a previously held back supporting mod.

0-60 times are cool, but they dont really do much for anyone unless you are after bragging rights. If you want to see how good the truck is after mods or where it is currently sits at in power and speed, you should be chasing more after 1/8 mile trap times or 1/4 mile trap times. If we are dragging these cars though, the A5 auto guys should be chasing after a higher stall torque converter which would be more efficient at throwing down the proper flash RPM necessary to keep you in the proper engine power band to maximize your overall power.

A lot of us still like wheeling though, so a stall converter would be geared towards the race oriented crowd, which is an even smaller niche group in comparison to our already small-ish blower group.

See how this all spirals out of control just off something as simple as chasing after 0-60 times? :D

Definitely not an exact science for all of the reasons you mentioned above. More to be used as an indicator for any perceived personal gain.

95 percent of any racing done is usually light to light, that said 0-60 is more than just a number for bragging rights. It's the difference between winning and losing between the spankin new f-150 with the driver grinning next to you (again all done in an abandoned street in Mexico).
I must admit the taco has leaned out within the last couple years, losing its 33" load range E tires for 32" load range C, rock slider delete, bed mat, tonneau cover etc for the benefit of dropping a few pounds. As many call it, a mall crawler, street truck indeed it is. Thanks to my 1st Gen 4runner taking its place in the wheeling department I would not have done this otherwise. Don't get me wrong, taco's are no sports car but we all know what we were thinking when we slapped on that supercharger followed by a smaller pulley, then a y pipe, then meth and it goes on and on. I've had plenty of fast cars in my day including my 487whp FD that runs high 10's but nothing is more satisfying when you hang with a 335i or the like with your lifted taco.

I WAS trying to get a larger crank pulley made for the supercharger, to run with my 2.0" supercharger pulley. But then, @12TRDTacoma taught me how to get rid of belt slip, and I am satisfied with 14-15psi.

That's A LOT of boost bro. Hahaha. You are at or above 1 bar at this point I believe. Hell you could air your tires up with that amount of psi the blower produces. :D

No doubt lol..And he was messing with the idea of going with a larger crank pulley on top of it all

This is why on XRU we had the 40-90 compilation. On a closed course of course. Standing starts and rolling start stats. With mods, relative elevation, and tire size. With hopefully a corrected Speedo. Great for seeing what your mods stack up against, as well as against your own previous best when new mods are applied.

Lurked on XRU for many years and was watching that closely. Still very curious if anyone has ever beaten or come close to 'superwerty's 60' and 0-60 times.

No owner of a 4 x 4 second gen has followed his route of a build. To my knowledge that is. So it would be hard to say that anyone has. Without any good digging.
