Quick question- warranty

About to get an 05 truck, as stated in this thread http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/97615-good-deal-what-should-i-offer.html

They're offering 3 year/36000 bumper to bumper warranty for like an extra 2650. My gut tells me no, but this is an 05 truck...nothing about the truck worries me but this is the first year of the 2nd gen. So quickly, yea or nah??

No...you can buy a lot of repairs for that, and the ones you'd like to use the warranty to pay for almost certainly are not covered.

Extended warranties are almost 100% pure profit for dealers. If you insist, take the 2,500, open a new bank savings account with it, and see if you ever touch it for repairs. If not, you have your next downpayment when the Taco needs replacing many, many years from now.

I completely agree. That said, I got extended warranty when I bought my new 2010, but it was less than half of what you paid for (I got 6yrs).
I'm not without controversy; but it was a new truck ya know.
