I like to try and do it at minimum twice a year. It's probably not enough, but it's hard to find time.

Just friendly words of advice... watch plenty of tutorials! Rotarys can burn your paint VERY quick. I would recommend using a Dual Action polisher for a beginner machine.

    Just my $.02

Thanks! Yeah. I have been watching some trying to build up my confidence with it.

I think what I might do is take my bedsides that I cut and test it out first then move to the truck itself.

    Good advice.

Double checked the chem guys wax. I guess I confused the color with Adam's buttery wax:

Tons O' Money Tuesday (not really)

Decided to "splurge" on some stainless steel hardware for the "front suspension facelift" (coming soon) for the BAMF LCA skids. Thought it might be a good idea since those are exposed to any and all elements. For those interested and curious, the bolt information is as follows:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/b-a-m-f-lca-skids-are-here.214409/page-61#post-16471400

Doing my best at the time, this is what I ordered from Fastenal:

    upload_2018-11-6_9-38-50.jpg

Hoping that sometime in the next month to month and a half, I can order my ADS coilovers and then install everything. It would be preferred to do everything all at once and get everything installed in one day. On that list and ideally done in one day would be:

    - TC cam tab gussets
    - New Stock LCAs and Wheeler's Cam Tab bolts
    - Sand, coat and paint BAMF LCA skids and install on new LCAs
    - ADS extended length coilovers
    - Dirt designs top hat gussets
    - Red Goat Fab body mount relocation
    - Order and swap in new front bumpstops from PlasticsGuy
    - cut, torch and dismember sway bar
    - alignment
    - ECGS bearing replacement

Hopefully coming soon; early to mid spring 2019.

Excited for what's to come! :woot: :yay::bananadance::kona::taco:

    :smack: True!

Those aren't needed right away but will likely come with the coilovers. So much collecting and coming for the front end.

    :spending::spending::spending:

Here we go again! Luckily, this time I have monies in my PayPal!!

    Started yesterday actually with this:

    https://www.bubbarope.com/the-grabber

Saw this in either @boogie3478 or @EatSleepTacos thread posted by someone :notsure: Thanks to whomever posted it! Thought process was that the bolt system used to secure the winch line is grade 5 and could break in the middle of nowhere. This will either be replaced right away or added to the kit should the bolt break and a repair is needed.

Next, a little creature comfort; AJT designs climate control knobs:

    https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/online-store/Climate-Knobs-2005-2015-Tacoma-3-PACK-p115199109

I have the chinese ones now that are junk. I find myself needing to take my eyes off the road and make sure the knobs are in the correct position; which is obviously dangerous. Going to stick with the climate controls for now and then decide on the 4x4 switch later. Luckily, I was able to locate my stock knobs so I have the metal sleeves needed for this mod. Check out boogie's video here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4zUYQu6p2Q

Next, functional mod. I have been meaning to get these plates done for the front bumper for a long time. Picked up a set of these bumper reinforcements from Kore 4x4:

    https://www.kore-4x4.com/products/2nd-gen-05-15-toyota-tacoma-weld-on-frame-reinforcement

Next, @Plastics Guy bumpstops for the front of the truck. These will replace my Wheeler's superbumps which will turn around and be sold once these are swapped in.

    https://www.toyotabumpstops.com/index.php/product/2nd-gen-toyota-tacoma-front-bump-stops/

Use 'THANKYOUVETS' today ONLY for 10% OFF and free shipping!!

    That's it for now.

I am still waiting for monies to move from Venmo over to PayPal and I am also waiting to hear from a local fab guy about frame plates and then I will be sending a request for a quote to a local metal supermarket for some DOM tubing. For now, I am set.

Awesome! You'll love the new AJT Knobs. If you use a dental pick or other small hook to remove the factory brackets it's wayyyyyyy easier.

Hope to continue day #2 of spending. Already got a few things done:

    - reached out to the local fab guy about shipping those plates up to me. I understand the R&D needed for this, but I am shocked that TW vendors/fabricators do not have this as a "click and buy" option.

    - Sent a request for a quote to Metal Supermarkets for some DOM after getting the measurements needed last night.

    - reached out to another Fab shop on the west coast that potentially makes frame plates. In my research this morning, I found some old posts in a thread and sent them an email. Waiting to hear back.

    - anxiously waiting for PayPal to accept my funds from Venmo. I really hate PayPal. Venmo is owned by PayPal, yet it takes 2-3 business to complete a transfer. And it's not like it's as easy as "transfer to my PayPal" and see the balance instantaneously. You have to transfer from Venmo to your bank account then transfer that amount from your bank account to PayPal :angrygirl:

On another note, my Adam's order finally showed up after 10 days. 10 DAYS after placing the order; that's ridiculous. Good thing I wasn't in a rush. I swear things from the West coast ship faster than this order which is from CO. Must be all that wacky tobacky. Anyways, looking forward to getting this done this weekend and maybe even test it out; at least with some snow (possibly).

Heard back from metal supermarkets and for what I would want, it would be $89.99 for two 4 foot sections of DOM Tube, 2" X .120" Wall, 1.75" Tube ID.

RuffStuff before shipping is $73 for the same as mentioned above. Shipping is another $30 which basically kills the deal.

My question is, now, should I only run 1 crossbar or 2 after plating the frame? And I guess I should ask if the tubing I am looking at (this is the minimum requirement for a main roll cage; should be plenty I think) is overkill for a couple of crossbraces and should I be looking at something else to save money and still would be able to run at least 2 crossbraces?

    Any advice?
