I say just buy what you like and be done with it. So many people on here are way too concerned with what everyone else thinks and looking for validation on their opinions. If you can afford it and you like the way it looks that's all that should matter.

You have a good point. Once I mounted that thing I just had to share how weird it looked, not a big fan so moving on to one I like.

Go with that white high rise!

Although mine didn't come with side windows, had to add those myself.

the white high-rise one would be better if you plan to sleep in it. that couple of inches of extra room is crucial if you plan to even sit in it towards the back. also gives you more standing room if you plan to make an awning or cover to go over the rear. and a high-rise ~$300 is decent since they usually cost a little more anyway. I have cab-height versions and wouldn't mind a little higher for even general use as it can provide more storage of taller items. if you plan to park in a garage or under a structure though you might be limited in what you can go with anyway :notsure:

Your right about that! Hmmmm. Well, currently my truck fits in my garage but with that high-rise shell and that 3” lift not sure if it will after that.

I like the shells that have window doors on the sides. Makes getting things out a breeze!

I just don’t know when to stop looking. Guess till I find the perfect one. Here’s another camper I found. It’s for a Ford Ranger 2009. The fit is a bit short, so not sure. The surprising thing is he is selling for $120.00 and has windoors on both sides and a bike mount on top

A bit too dark for a picture.

no matter what you have to make sure it lines up on the bed rails properly or you will have leaks. a leaky good looking cap is just a waste of money :)

I'm running OME suspension, ~2.5" of lift over stock. Wish I had at least one windoor on the sides, those are definitely useful. i'm into my shell a bit over 300, you can check out what I've done to it in this thread.

I'm leaning into the high rise as well! Just stuck on which high rise style to go with.

Just keep in mind.... all the money and time spent running around checking and test fitting these things. Over time you could be spending as much as buying a new one.;)

I don't think all my searching and driving close to town will add up to $1,356.00

With the measurements and great price, you should def pull the trigger. I think it’ll look really good when it’s all said and done.

I would just make sure you get one that fits the Tacoma 1st gen, get new seals, and be willing to spend up to $500 depending on the model, condition etc.

For $50 you cant go wrong. Make sure it fits proper, if not water will get in (that ranger topper will leak)
