I have a 2018 access cab. When going down the road and especially with a cross wind it sounds like one of the doors isn’t closed all the way. I inspected the weatherstripping and on all the doors it is secured with plastic pins every 8 inches or so and that is it. I feel like that would be letting a lot of wind noise through. Is this normal on these trucks?

    It's normal and correctable.

    Warranty.

I believe you can find threads here where folks have had them replaced on earlier models.

There is a TSB about that.

There is a TSB and a thread about guys fixing it with drip line. Go with either route but glue or silicone RTV by itself won't work but will make a big mess.

Take it to the dealership, if under warranty. I know it is a pain, better long term fix. Get what you paid for, quality.

It doesn’t cover 2018 models, but here is the wind noise T-SB:

I never noticed it until I moved to California where there is more wind that causes this. Now I’m out of warranty, so I guess I’ll see how much they’ll charge to fix this. Maybe I can just get parts and replace it myself.

It’s funny how this has been a problem since day 1 for some people, and the dealerships at first loved to tell people it was “a characteristic of the truck.” They do that for everything that there isn’t a TSB for. I’m glad Toyota finally released a TSB that fixed this.
