I stopped at SDHQ for something else and got those off the shelf.
Give them a call and show them the picture. They will know.

I'll get on the Locking Fuel Door write-up soon. It bothered me too. This is definitly the most cost effective way but I'm intesested in doing a powered release like in most Lexus vehicles down the road.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ass-homelink-smartphone-mirroring-mod.473033/

This is the thread for all the Camera and A/V info. Definitly worth the read. It explains the use of the one relay.

Just curious don't have a turn signal like the factory on top of the taillight and use on the reverse side and no more reverse lights?

Issue was fixed before your ‘18 was made. Torque was wrong at the factory ( too much ). And no dealer would be expected to fix a problem like that without proof of the leak.

    Thanks for the info.

I’ve seen guys say they got their blower motor replaced before any failures; why would a possibly leaky third brake light not get addressed?

That's because their truck qualifies for the blower motor TSB in both model year and VIN.

Did you change gas cap or the same stist one? I ask because I changed mines out with one that I can lock the cap with and my check engine light came on. Got the code bypassed and like few weeks later Boom!! Check engine light on again...kills me because on long drives it doesn't allow the cruise control to activate do to the check engine light.

I had my Tacoma blower replaced at my 10k service appointment. I wasn't even aware there was a recall on it, they informed me at that time. I think the difference is that while Toyota knows there are issues with the third brake light the problem is limited to a smaller number by comparison to the blower motors. I've worked on the manufacture of engine brakes for the Japanese heavy truck market and I can tell you that their requirements are very stringent. They are very good at identifying the scope of a problem with a pretty good idea of the numbers involved. I suspect that that number of failed 3rd break lights is not of sufficient quantity to issue a full blown recall but that they will fix the problem as they arise.
