Yeah, thump would be nice, but not at that price. LOL And as for the Roush logo on the tensioner, I will leave it and probably point it out to people, not that it can even be seen from the top. I don't see the need to take off the name of something that was an upgrade. Roush is respectable, not like it says Nissan on it. LOL But to each their own on the idea of sanding off the logo. To me, you just don't advertise if it is a fake. Like slapping a TRD Off-Road 4x4 sticker on a mid 90's truck. Nope, not fooling those in the know. Just look stupid. Now a Toyota Racing Development sticker that you had made and is custom to not copy a package that is offered is different. But that is me. LOL

I just don't like being connected to Ford even if the tensioner is meant for a Ford, hey if it works on our setup it works on our setup. Lol.

Anyone know the magic phrase for a rebuild kit on the zz website? Nothing I'm typing gets results.

 

not sure about a phrase, but it is all under the 3800 section. In the supercharger and Eaton parts section.

I'm ordering the Roush tensioner. I'm going to polish the Roush part so it will stand out more. If I could find a Nissan tensioner that worked, I'd put one on.

 

Polish the Roush part then paint it red so then everyone knows that you drive a Rustang.

Not as good of a deal for us in Texas due to sales tax, but for you out of state guys it’s not a bad deal at ~$120 shipped.

 

Look at the Allen screws are almost falling out!

 

Ahh I see that now. Lol. Looks like someone failed to tighten them correctly is all. I usually attach the Allen wrench with the short part going into the bolt and the long end sticking out for additional leverage. Tighten them until they are tight and then crank down on them until it almost feels as if the key is going to bend, then move onto the next until they are all gutten-tite. Never had an issue with them.

 

Good thing you caught it before that shit literally hit the fan.

Maybe add a drop of blue locktite on each one?

 

Healthy dose of locktite for sure. That almost ranked very high on the suck scale.

 

I wonder if that was the noise you’ve been hearing.

 

It definitely pays to pop the hood and look things over from time to time. Did you just happen to notice? Or did it make some noises?

At least none of the bolts came out. A) you probably never find them. (B) no telling what damage one would do getting flung off at that high of an RPM.
