There's a reason the wagon trains kept going west and it wasn't always gold.

I went to the car wash yesterday morning to spray through the frame.
Tonight I fogged the frame, cross members and hitch tube with 3 cans of Fluid Film. This will be the first winter the truck lives in. Bye, bye, rust free California truck. :angrygirl::(:(:(

You seem to be a guy who wants new insights, so I'll pass this along. That "drain plug" is just that, but maybe not what you are thinking.

In the factory, the primer layer was put on by dipping the truck in a tank. The body and the liquid are electrically charged to cause it to stick( electropheretic deposition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrophoretic_deposition ). This method provides complete coverage, where as if it were sprayed, there would likely be variation in thickness, or possibly even missed spots. This is a common method in auto plants.

Those holes let the liquid into, and out of, the cabin as it is dunked. They also keep the body from trying to float when it is dunked.

Maybe you already knew this, but just thought I'd pass it along because I am sure there are a lot of people wondering why all those unused holes in the body were added, then just plugged.

Painted and mounted (yesterday) Winter time shoes. Autozone Evergreen Pearl with flat black overspray to tone it down a little. Matched well enough for my taste.
