Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I don’t blame anyone that offloaded their Tacoma considering it’s bi-polar as a feature feel and nature. Hopefully they didn’t switch out for something equally jacked up.

That being said, I can’t wait for the 1.05 overhaul, distribution, and eventual reviews to start pouring in.

If the reviews are as good as the explanation of why I hate the way my truck drives, I will certainly become a happy customer and finally be able to start enjoying my ride without thinking about it.

 

Looks like Mat is taking time out of the office for the Holidays - December 19th - January 3rd. ??? maybe a 16 day count down for some form of a 1.05 release for us AT pre-tsb (04B03) holdouts? That would be nice, please Santa ?!

 

It likely means that it will be released very soon (as in the next week) or after the holidays...the last thing you want to do is drop a software release then immediately head out the door on a 2+ week vacation. No matter how good it is...some people will have problems with it and will be putting in tickets that need to be responded too...

He's working on it. I believe its going to drive more like the 2nd gens(but better) since he's completely redoing it so that it makes more sense. I loved the way that truck drove(my 13 Taco) minus the shimmy from the two piece. I have full faith that it will be an awesome upgrade when we get the finished product though. We've already seen more power, better MPGs, and better shifting performance. That was all BEFORE he had a 100% handle on all the code. When it comes it comes. Need to have that transmission 100% cause that's what's going to be the base for that turbo life. Going to be a exciting next year. Just a bummer I'm losing half my income in February. Going to need to get a second job.

Still feel the excitement like everyone else though. His goal is soon as possible so here's to hoping!

Wow, hate to hear that its MORE pronounced with tune. Thats unfortunate but understandable.

 

"1.05" is his way to keep this thread alive..I remember when there was talk of it coming in september now i am starting to think development is over for the tacoma

 

My folder of test tunes says otherwise.

 

This is far from dead. It’s more alive now than ever, we just don’t see everything going on behind the scenes

 

I see I’m not the only one with a folder of fun

This TSB leaves you with the same ECU version, 04B04 or 04B13, as the other TSBs.

 

Complete opposite actually, we've dropped all other platforms so we can develop for the tacoma and Tundra
