yeah I mean ethically it's definitely iffy, but legally nothing wrong so I can't fault him. just like buying an Ozark version of a Yeti in my opinion.

 

That’s more of an RTIC to yeti comparison, but the point is still the same.

Rocky Mountain Racks atleast changed the mounting system but kept the same shape.

 

I'm out of the roof rack world thankfully. honestly kept ending up more headache than I ever wanted it to be.

 

I did. All basically small things that just annoyed me. Yes it was a prinsu.

The little star bolts that mount the cross bars are weak, I snapped one way too easily once.
Using them with a RTT is a major pain in the ass because they are so low profile. Getting your arm in there to tighten/loosen the nuts was awful. Of course a hoist that you could just take the tent off with two of the crossbars would've fixed that.
Overall decent product but the side panels are quite flimsy in my opinion.
I don't think I used a roof rack to it's full potential, but for my purposes it just wasn't practical.

 

I've been thinking about doing this for a while. Its just 80/20 and some cut out aluminum, but damn. I was going to redesign the looks of it a little. This guy just straight up copied the Prinsu.

 

straight up. carbon copy. even on some whatever page # he said "revised design" and it still looks identical haha.

 

There is not really much they can do. He's not infringing on their logo and I seriously doubt they were able to patent anything to do with the design. It's kinda like a pair of pants, anyone can make one.

I have his old Prinsu and so far I like it. I do agree that the side rails should be flush with the 80/20 to prevent weight from large items being on the side rails only. I've used it to carry mattresses and my kayaks so far. I think when I get a RTT I will make some kind of custom mount for it.

 

ah yes that was another one I didn't like was the crossbars don't sit flush with the sides. that's so cheap to me lol. just an inconvenience.

I will say that there was a noticeable change in drag and fuel mileage when I added it.

 

Anybody here ever changed there rear drive shaft seal on their transfer case? Mine has a slow drip and has to be changed in the near future. For the time being I’m just checking it and topping it off before Saturday

Lets be honest....buying a tire like that, no one is considering what people think they look like. They only care if they will perform and those look like they will perform quite well. The spacing basically looks the way people use to cut their boggers to widen the gap of the tread.

I like how they look. Be awesome on an old square body chevy used for mud bogging. Too much meat for a truck like mine think.
