Im looking at the Rocky mounts as well. However I dont see a need to lock my bike down, is the cluth the same as the clutch SD? Also I have a MTN bike and a road bike, if I order 2 clutch mounts will they work or does the road bike need a different size mount?

I have two mounts on the tool box. When the bed extender is flipped open, bikes fit in there perfectly. I also have a Thule Hitching Post 4 that I can put in the 2" receiver if I wish.

Still trying to figure out an idea for this. The Amazon product is a good start but too bulky and am looking for something low profile like the fork mounts. I was thinking about using the holders found on most hitch bike racks (rubbery pieces to hold the frame...see pic) and mount those to the rail to hold the wheel...

I'd bungie them to the bike frame or lay them down in the bed but at $3000 I'd like to have them secure

Love the Rocky Mount Clutch SD.

Fits both my road bike and mountain bike.

The clutch SD comes with mounting hardware for the deckrail system in our Tacos!

    Thanks

I use Rocky mounts when I'm alone or it's just my wife and I. When I have to haul a bunch of bikes or other gear I uses INNO bars attached to bed rails and Yakima racks.

I sat down in the truck one afternoon and figure i could probably build something where i didn't have to take my tire off, been using this for about 2 years. With the short bed 2nd gen the tail gate doesn't close though.

I got my rocky mounts from tree fort bikes. Search them on google. Usually have the cheapest prices.

    Hope that helps!

Sorry, not pictures of the bikes installs. Here is a link to a thread of the install.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...oss-bars-mounted-bed-rails-2.html#post1545941

The bikes will fit with through an 8 ft garage door loaded. There are 95.5 inches clearance on the doors. Ice chests will easily fit below the bars along with other gear such as gas cans, chairs, etc.

Thule T-2 rack is the finest hitch mount rack available. Tips away from the bumper so you can lower the tail gate without unloading the bikes. You can add the "+2 add-on rack" so you carry four bikes on the hitch. Leaves my Leer capped long bed available for sleeping/camping out on longer trips.

I can ferry four guys, four bikes, all camping gear, riding equipment for a 5 day trip in comfort and style.

Same here^. Thats why I bought a pickup...to throw shit in the bed. If I wanted to use a rack, I'd be using the M3 to transport it :)
