The TRD one was a joke.... for how much they were selling them for. NLA, discontinued years ago, but doesn't matter, that's why many of us went with the Hayden 678 which is basically the same size for a fraction of the cost of the TRD kit. Plus the intended mounting location of the TRD one sucked too and is why I mounted mine the way I did.

Do you go through the stock cooler first, or the aftermarket cooler?

There really isn't a stock one per se, I'm assuming you mean the stock heat exchanger in the radiator. I don't consider that a cooler. It's more to bring trans oil up to operating temp quicker in cold climates. Too cold of oil temp will affect shifting as you probably know.

I ran mine after the radiator. For some people who run big aftermarket coolers in very cold climates they have to disconnect it or block airflow when not needed or run it before the stock heat exchanger which i find kind of pointless. Here in SoCal I've never had that problem on my Tacoma.

Nice, mine rubbed like crazy just a forewarning lol. But I think it's my aftermarket wheels with the wrong backspacing. Had to trim quite a bit.

I still haven't measured it to be honest...they were wheels the previous owner put on. I didn't have any rubbing issues on the street but when they stuff the wheel wells they rubbed bad.

Got it mostly taken care of by trimming back the pinch weld quite a bit and hammering it back.

Ah gotcha. Yeah I should be good. I had 285s on my old set up and didn’t rub and these wheels have the same same backspace @ 4”
    I’m not worried

List of projects is piling up.

Fed Ex guy showed up today
Valve cover, plenum, and other assorted gaskets and shit.

A couple more things to do while doing the 4x conversion.

And a set of nice looking ditch light brackets I found on eBay.

And there may or may not be a transmission, transfer case, and front driveline headed my way for delivery tomorrow

Not the UPS guy for the trans/tcase drive shaft. There's a pretty nice salvage yard that deals predominantly with Toyota, Lexus, Scion in Rancho Cordova. I called them to pay a deposit so they could get it ready to pick up on Saturday... He told me they would deliver it to me for 50 bucks... And I said he'll fuvkin ya, do that!

What front axle did you snag? Or did you narrow down 1 ton?
