How much do you have into just the trailer. Without the tent and all the goodies? It looks great.

Anybody want to plan a wheeling trip over the Holidays? Sat the 29th would be a good day. Maybe go somewhere new like Hawk's Pride?

Without the tent and outfitting inside probably around 2K. The biggest expense was a local welding shop fabricating the fenders, installing shocks and stabilizer legs and then the costs for the linear actuators. I built the frame for the tent and welded/installed it myself. All the other items (12v wiring, water tank, hot water shower, deep charge batteries, solar controller, inverter, Tepui Ruggedized Kukenam tent (got a good deal on that during a Tacoma World buy and it only cost me $1400, they are listing for $2,700 now), fridge, etc account for the rest of the expenses and I don't tend to buy cheap shit that I might be dissatisfied with later. Too bad Jernyman wasn't around at the time, he probably could have made some fenders for me that were a lot cheaper. On the other hand, the ones made for me locally are super strong and very well made so I don't really have any major complaints. I got the trailer because even with heavy duty rear springs it was like taking a lumbering whale on the road with the tent on top of the shell and everything else inside the bed. I'm not getting rid of my shell because I like being able to have a bit more security for keeping things in the back but eventually if I get a larger shop instead of a garage I will be able to take the shell off and use bed bars instead depending on the type of trip I plan to take.

Your biggest considerations needs to be weight. The lighter you go the less concern about pulling the trailer along with you. Needless to say I am working on reducing weight. Keep track of everything you add to see what your final figures are. They have a scale out in Harvest that I have weighed my truck/trailer on over the years. I've made two trips already (Moab and Colorado) with all this plus more gear and had no issues with the truck on the road but I could do better. Still think I need heavier duty Dakars though. The Icons on the front are adjusted all the way to the top and the truck is just barely level. My existing rear leafs (bought from AllPro before there reputation went under) may be starting to lose some of their lift.

Here are some stats I comprised over time:

Items Removed - Front OEM Bumper - 30lbs- Rear OEM Bumper and Tow Package - 91lbs
    - Stock Battery - 50lbs
    - Stock shocks front and rear - 30lbs

    - Icon Stage 3 coil overs and rear shocks - 100lbs
    - AllPro Expedition Springs - 150lbs
    - UWS Box (in back of truck with prepper gear) - 80lbs
    - Dual Battery Install (third deep charge behind back seat) - 189lbs
    - Relays and Wiring - 20lbs
    - Relentless Aluminum Front Bumper with Predator Bars - 75lbs
    - Winch - 60lbs
    - CBI Rear Bumper - 131lbs
    - CBI Swing Gate - 69lbs
    - Spare tire - 70lbs
