Check out st maxx. Amazing on and off road qualities, are damn near silent, and come in that 255/85r16 size I mentioned earlier.

That’s a tall tire. Seems like I read somewhere someone had slight rubbing with that size and no lift.

I'm fascinated that so many people felt a need to justify their own decisions or perceived it as an insult.

    Amen!

I've got the ST Maxx's as well. Very pleased with them. Almost forget they are there.

Well OP changed the title to better reflect his intentions. It was originally "build it properly" I believe. As someone else in the thread stated, it was perceived as a dig at all the trucks that like to cut/weld/drill on.

We live in a time where some people can’t comprehend appreciating things, but not wanting them personally. Social media fucked up a lot of people. But that’s another forum.

I'm the OP of the thread linked above re: 255/85/16s. You'll be able to fit those on the stock OR tires no problem. I ran KM2s for a looooooong time and only ever rubbed under the most flexiest of conditions offroad, and even then it was mostly cause my alignment had gotten jacked up by something.

Now, you can repay the favor of my invaluable knowledge by riddling me this: That TMT roofrack up above looks like a blatant ripoff of the Prinsu. I don't really GAF is that's true, but I'm asking- is that true? Cause it's got an appealing price and is actually in stock...

It's actually better. I don't own one, but I've seen it in person. Much much beefier than the prinsu.

I thought about the Prinsu until I saw the price. That’s on par with insane Jeep aftermarket prices. They can keep it for that. I’ll look into this other one. Insane prices is why I got into welding. Tig welding aluminum took me a couple of months to get the hang of, and the cost of the material isn’t high. My next venture is machine work so I can cover the spectrum.

Wtf. 3” lift? I thought the spirit of your post was a quality no bs no destroying the truck build?!?!

3” is not optimum for low profile and low impact. Your drive angles are going to need extra attention, because they aren’t meant to apply drive at those angles constantly. People do it with success, but they know they are straining the hardware, and they pay attention to it.

You need more drawing board bro.

The difference between a 2.5 and 3 is minimal. I’m all ears on education in regards to this. I never claim to know it all; very open to hearing more. I have heard issues with over 3, but simple realigning of the drivetrain components seemed to make sense. The one drawback I’ve seen is the cv. I toyed with the thought of going with the overkill ones, but then I learned about the diff vs those.

As someone with a hack job build, I do wish I could go back and do it again as described in the first post. Good luck with yours.

I'm with you OP! I love seeing all the things these guys do to their trucks. Man, it's cool! But I have no desire to cut, drill, or weld things onto mine.

It appears that renaming this thread fixed the influx of crazy misinterpretations. A good suggestion from another member squared it away. What have you done to yours?
