During the sections in elevation, I experienced the described issue. Today I had my truck in for service and I asked to have the TSB update done. I thought it was a kind of routine update...I'm a web developer so I'm familiar with computers. I received a call that the update would cost $127 to perform. Now, I don't live at elevation so I probably won't experience the issue until I happen to drive to elevation, so I'm going to pass on having it done. Is this common to be charged for a software update?

No it's not dude.

The TSB paperwork mentions that it's covered under warranty up until 80k miles

The manager at the dealership did overhear me and the service rep talking about this and came over to say to "just do it at no charge". I got busy and haven't had it done yet plus, I'm not driving in elevation so I'm not in a rush to get it done.
