Anytime Front and Rear Camera Mod

I didn't know him. Made a deal with him as a trade.

 

Does the front camera require 12v power? Do you just connect it to open fuse slot?

 

Yes it requires 12V and you could hook it to an open fuse slot but it would be on all the time and likely prematurely fail. I recommend connecting it to the output of the FWD camera switch as the above schematic shows. This way the camera will only power on when the FWD camera button is pressed.

Anybody install the backup one and have issues? Mine seems to only turn on like 75% of the time and sometimes regardless of where the switch is when I go into reverse the camera won’t switch on. My best guess is an intermittent short or something...

 

It actually sounds to me as though a connection isn't 100%. Also check the harnesses to ensure they are completely plugged in.

Check the harnesses first then check the connections for the backup cam.

I'm selling the kit I bought from Logistics91 early this year, I never installed it. It's his earlier style where you have to splice into wires, not the plug & play. It has the wire harness, instructions & a center stack switch for right below the a/c controls next to the ECT button. Selling for $25 shipped CONUS.
