Saw a side by side vs Tacoma. The wheel articulation is nowhere near a Tacoma. You're already at a disadvantage before your even hit the trails. Don't do it.

Once we get the final list I will Pm everyone to set up and give details. Essentially we will all be paying $25 and also splitting the $100 membership between all of us. I will most likely get everyone to send an e-transfer/paypal/cash at wing night. I essentially only want to accept money when I have registered.

Going up north (for me at least) with a buddy this weekend. Hitting up the logging roads between South River and Algonquin Park. My buddy has a cottage deep in the woods there. Gonna shoot some shotguns at the old gravel pit too. Should be a good time, hope I don’t break my shit.

Like most here even do trails that need that lol, nothing that aftermarket will not fix though.

It’s a better DD truck overall, I’ve driven one. If only it came with stick shift...

Similar construction and installation scheme as my BudBuilt "light" skids, which I confirmed will fit 3rd gen.

How do you change the oil filter? Drop the front skid each time?

Yeah, you will have to do that every time, or you can cut the area where filter is, and make access door. MT?:boink:

I'll be getting an auto. :p 90% of my driving is in rush-hour traffic. The manual mode works well enough for times I need engine braking (I used it often with the Prado in Costa Rica).

I think a filter door on a 3/16" or 1/4" skid is OK. On a 1/8" skid like mine, it will weaken it too much. Looks like it will be stainless bolts and fluid film on the threads, twice a year...

Here are first mods to do - fill up transmission fluid, then check for a leaking rear 3rd light (some Double Cabs), then check if your rear diff is howling (Toyota "feature"), then look at front radiator bushings that could be installed wrong from the factory and rub, and when this is all done check with a dealer if you need to replace master brake cylinder :D :crapstorm:

^By "radiator bushings", you mean the body mounts at the radiator support? That's a known problem even on 2nd gens. I swapped out the rotted ones on my 2010 with the $28 Energy Suspension urethane kit a while back. Will be doing the same with the 2019.

Yeah, that's the ones, after all those years Toyota didn't bother to improve on quality. :annoyed:

My bushings have been sitting on my desk for a couple months :anonymous:

Is the install as straight forward as it looks?

^Yes. I jacked up the body with a piece of wood as shown in this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...at-noise-may-not-be-your-leaf-springs.464993/

The stacking of bushings may be done differently: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/polyurethane-radiator-support-mounts-cab-also.361346/

With your bumper, access to both the bolt head and nut should be clear. In my case, the nut came off easy with basic 8" ratchet and wrench. The bolt shank was heavily rusted. I would recommend having replacement bolts on hand before attempting, either OEM or 3/8" bolts of similar length.
It's possible Toyota didn't get enough complaints about it in the past 10 years. A bit like the rear diff breather...
