I got a 4” hole saw. Didn’t do the donaldson but did the airflow. Pretty straight forward.

    1. Measure atleast once

    2. Cut big gigantic hole in fender

    3. Cut smaller holes in fender

    4. Install the hardest lock washers and bolts ever

    5. Read directions

    6. Fix mistakes.

I ran Minden and Ardbeg stock . You're fine.
Just stick to main trail and don't try anything without a spotter just to be safe

yeah I ended up doing the velcro mod. I highly, highly suggest getting good quality velcro and clean the area as much as possible. I may end up doing rivnuts down the road. I definitely was not doing the wood screws that were given with my snorkel kit.....

Also, on my snorkel the studs that go into the snorkel body were suppose to be locktighted in. I figured being in canada, we have the Salt and rust for that. However I am always tightening the most upper bolt as it loosens off, which causes my velcro to fail.

Second pro-tip. Get some kind of sealant (I used plumbers putty or mastic tape I believe). I used this between any tubing joint that was held on with a hose clamp.

I have been considering making something that attaches the snorkel to the roof rack somehow.

That sir is signature worthy! haha

According to Toyota. It's not a snorkel. It is a desert air intake.

I don't even want to know what they charge for that in comparison to the $300USD for the Dobinsons.

^Toyota is technically correct. Most Toyotas (including mid-engined HiAce vans) have snorkels in Egypt, for example, where it rains maybe once a year. But if you go over all the joints with sealant, it will work as a water snorkel.
Large cushioned clamp around the snorkel tube, fastened to a steel strip that attaches to the roof rack perhaps?

Think my truck is leaking coolant or oil or somethin I honestly can’t tell. I drove it probably 140kms today and I get home and am sitting in the driveway with it idling. I turned it off and got out and I noticed a ~2” diameter drip and some splatter right under one of the holes in the skid plate. Kinda under where the radiator is.

I got it oil sprayed over a week ago but it stopped dripping a couple of days. Looks yellowy and slimy when I run my fingers over it on the concrete. Not sure what to think.

On the gas tank side there is a battery ground along the frame rail. 12mm bolt. Should be just in front of the wheel closest to the cab.
