It shouldn't matter if washington isn't a cold weather state since the current warranty enhancement program, zh6, includes all 05-10 Tacomas in every state. The undercoating only is applied to trucks in cold weather states.

@SaphiraTaco which dealership did you go to? Did you have rust issues with your 2013?

Hopefully they let me take it home so I can torch the sliders off... And I want my fucking shackle flip back too god damnit. Can't really take those off until they dismantle it. Might just run it without lift for a while, gonna look fubar with no lift, f/r bumpers and 265's. I'll be getting new LCA's as part of the frame package and I have a set of 2017 o/r factory bilsteins with coils. I'll get new rear leafs with the frame and just have them put the dakars in the back. Should probably get my icons rebuilt too. Timings perfect, the shock tower on the passerpas side is deformed too. :anonymous:

@JimSnell I cancelled my appt at Toyota puyallup and went with bellevue instead. After thinking about it, I didn't want to have to deal with the dealer all the way down there. I wasn't too confident that Michael's would give me a new frame since they didn't find this issue the last time. Going to be hard to say it's fine after what I found today. Nothing like waiting till the last minute. The 31st is the cut off for my truck, but this should have been caught before under the 2005-2008 limited service campaign.

The closest dealership to my house is Toyota of Lake City. The frame restoration project was on my 2006 I bought new. I needed to upgrade to a double cab for carseat reasons. I have a 2013 currently with no rust!! The frame is coated with something better than my 2006.

For some reason I feel like the dealers around here don't want to deal with any of the frame replacement, so they just give it a once over and consider the frame fine. Michael's inspected my truck previously and I'm certain this condition was present then and should have been found prior to now. I'm gonna go postal if they try to say I don't qualify or try to pull some bullshit reason why they won't replace my frame.

You have to have a hole a certain size. Don’t remember exactly. They also want to charge extra for working with lift components and may refuse to reinstall aftermarket parts.

I think that’s just their way of persuading you to leave them alone. They tried telling a lady she needed to buy OEM wheels. Not trying to discourage you. Give em hell. Is that a hole in the picture or just flakes? If not, leave a salt filled sock hanging after “discovering” a hole somewhere.

Ooohhh, ask nic about TOK. He bought that RockWarrior from them CPO. He went through 3 rear ends in just over a year and had to raise hell just to get them to fix shit right the first time. He went back several times for issues they couldn't figure out.

But now that I think about it, nics gone blown up the rear ends on just about every vehicle he's owned. Maybe it's not the vehicles that are defective. :notsure:
    :burnrubber:

Then there was that one time they side swiped another car with a customer's 3rd gen Tacoma when parking it in the lot end of day. They tried to cover it up iirc, but they didn't realize he had a dash cam. The customer made it known that they're pretty much dishonest and will say what you want to hear and do the opposite.

I had the desk person that setup my appointment make a note for the service advisor that I've found concerning corrosion and would like to be oresepr during the inspection. Oh yeah, they're gonna check my leaf springs to make sure they're ok since I have an outstanding recall on that.

I forgot to mention but Toyota of Puyallup wanted to charge me a $150 diagnostic fee to perform the frame inspection. It clearly states that the inspection is performed at no cost to the customer whether it does or does not meet the requirements for frame replacement. He tried to tell me that if my frame failed due to other reasons not outlined by the warranty enhancement I would have to pay. I said, so you're trying to double dip off this frame inspection? He said he didn't know what I was talking about. So I explained to him that this is a warranty pay inspection and that it explains in the memo from TMS to use a specific op code related to the result of the inspection and action taken along with the flat rate hours for each possible outcome or action taken during the inspection. Fuck those guys.

It's at least 10mm in size as outlined in the requirements that need to be met to qualify for replacement. All I want is the frame replaced and done correctly without issue or the run around saying that I'm required to pay for this or that.

I'll keep all my aftermarket shit, all I'll ask is that they put it in the bed of the truck as they take it off. If they want me to take the bumpers off before they accept it to perform the work, fuckit I'll drive there with no bumpers. Gonna torch the sliders off and will provide them with a set of oem coils and struts from a 2017 to install in place of my icon coil overs. The frame includes new LCA's, I'd hope theyre competent enough to reinstall my TC UCAs, and also new rear leaf springs, brake lines and other misc items like nuts and bolts. They can save their breath trying to upsell me on shit I don't need. The only thing I would consider having them do and most likely will, is a new steering rack. Other than that there's nothing that needs replacing imo. I'll reinstall all my aftermarket stuff myself at a later date and rebuild the icons. I'm sure they'll make a big deal about my CEL being on and want to sell me a new transmission. Or mention something about how my exhaust system doesn't meet emissions. They'll probably get confused when they find my URD O2 sim and when I get the truck back it won't be installed and probably have a 0420/0430 code present. Or I'll get an earfull about not having tpms installed/operational. Fuck the more I think about it, it makes my head hurt.

They shouldn't. Just be treated as any other aftermarket part...ie if it didn't cause the problem it can't be used against you. There's been other people with sliders that have gotten frames replaced. Just don't expect the dealer to remove or reinstall them

Pretty much it's like the magnuson moss act. They need to prove that by me welding the sliders on caused the frame to fail.
