Drill some damn holes and put the sensors in the aftermarket bumper!

I think its probably a little more challenging than that. Otherwise I would assume many if not all aftermarket fabricators would be be offering it as an option. I believe the stock BSM sensors can read through plastic but not steel or aluminum for whatever reason, if I remember correctly. There is one company offering back up sensor compatibility CBI maybe?

I remember when there were no proximity sensors. We would just check our surroundings, use our mirrors, and send it in reverse! It was the wild west back then. :hattip:

Both have to go through plastic. I’ve seen a couple of vendors offer cut outs for parking sensors and one (C4 maybe? I can’t remember for sure) offer a bumper with BSM cut outs. I suspect it is hard to do in a high clearance bumper.

I agree. It took a near miss in my first pickup to teach me the visibility wasn’t quite the same as all the cars I had driven. Even with BSM I still look because it is far from perfect. With how insane the drivers in Colorado have gotten I’m glad I have it though.

So do I. But people don't like giving up something they paid for. It doesn't help justify the purchase in their mind.

Liability. Testing. Those other companies are too lazy and would add too much cost to their product.

Yep my 2003 has none of these. Also the first 4 years I owned it, it had a commercial shell on the back with no side windows and a small, very dark tinted rear window, so I learned the size of the truck very well and had no issues parking in cities with no visibility.

Not "hard" to do. Liability. Vendors are too lazy to add cutouts because they if you install it incorrectly or if the angle is off, you'll blame them for the BSM's not working.

Oh I agree with you on that. In a general sense I think there are too many "nannies" nowadays is all.

Well, evidently the bed Extender doesn't work with the bed stiffeners :frusty:
Which sucks, cause I loved that bed Extender.

You can cut them down to fit. I saw someone did it a while back but I can't find the post.
