I'm brand new and have spent almost 3 hours looking for pictures of double cab long bed inferno trucks with a soft top either bestop supertop or softopper. I think I am now leaning towards the softopper becuase they offer front and rear pet screens. And is it me or does the softopper have cleaner body lines than the bestop supertop? Either way I'm so stuck if I want black or grey. I think black but i want to see what others have so I can compare.

I just can't recommend any of the soft tops. They are expensive for what you get. All of them are ugly and I've never seen one that fits right. They are all too small on the bed and look like a man wearing a hat 2 sizes too small. They offer the illusion of anything inside being secure, but don't really. And they have a limited lifespan before wearing out. I've owned too many soft top Jeeps, had them broken into and had to replace tops just a few years old.

You don't see them as much anymore, but if someone doesn't want the expense and weight of a fiberglass top they still make aluminum. They are super easy to put on or take off without any help. Light as a feather, much more secure, don't look any worse, (I think they look better) and are about the same price as the soft tops.

Softopper is more expensive for a reason. Fits much better, quality is fantastic. I just sold mine to a local member who’s putting it on his Barcelona red DCLB. I wish I could’ve kept it but I’m getting a DCSB trd or

I agree that they’re sized extremely weird, like they should be designed to sit more towards the outside of the bed rail.

It was nice for camping out of and keeping things dry, like my dog or suitcases, but other than that it was a little awkward and sucked when it was cold outside as it became so stiff.

My Softopper came in last night and I can’t wait to install it. I bought it to keep the camping gear out of the elements or when I don’t want something to fly out of the bed. I also wanted something easy to remove when I need all of the space in the bed (dirt bikes/mountain bike).

I've got a ST on my Tundra. Want one for the Tacoma.

With that said, I think the ST is a better deal in the long run. These toppers fit several different manufacturers trucks, so they are universal. They sell very fast uses and you get to keep much of your initial investment. With a rigid cap, it only fits one vehicle and it has to be the same color. You never get close to what you paid for a rigid cap.

I've had rigid caps and I'm never going back to rigid caps.

I'm amazed at the number of people that ask me about the ST and where to get one. No one ever came up to me and told me my color matched rigid cap was great looking.

$750 ish is a lot cheaper than an ARE at $2800. Plus if I want to sell it, it will go fast if I want to drop the price to $400 ish. That's not such a big hit to the wallet.

This is the best I have right now . When I first installed it I thought the transition from cab to cap looked a little odd however it has grown on me and now I really like it. I also like the tinted windows. Get lots of compliments on it as well.

Not a 3rd Gen or Inferno but I love mine. Cleans easy and you can treat it so it's stays clean. Would never want a clunky hard top.

    Softopper, love it!

As others have mentioned, go with the black topper w/ Inferno...

I don't believe so, but I'm not 100% on that.

    Yes. For the rear.

I allows you to camp in the back without it getting all stuffy

Or do other things in the bed without it getting stuffy.
