Bilstein 5100 Lift

So I’m looking to lift my truck and have it sit level. I backed out of doing strut spacers and now looking at the Bilstein 5100s all around. I’m also gonna have the OME coils on and was thinking of doing the 2888s. Will having the 2888s up front and a HS 3 AAL in the back have the truck level once it’s settled? As of right now the entire front is stock with no added weight and planning to keep it that way for now. If you have pics and measurements please post them

 

Also how well do these perform off road? I’m not climbing up any mountains or doing crazy stuff, just the typical muddy trail

 

I'm also in the process of educating myself on getting 5100s as a form of leveling the truck.

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken pls, from what I understand 5100s on the highest clip setting on the front will level the truck with bilsteins on all 4 corners. Giving you an additional 2 inches up front with enough space to run 285s..?

Lift is not going to clear 285's
The front only needs lifted a 1" to level with the rear. With OEM springs you can set them in the highest setting, but will ride like shit. If running the 2888 or other such spring... you should not compress, set the clip on 0 and use the spring for the lift.
To run 285's you will need to do a cab mount chop, hammer pinch welds and trim fender liner..

 

Don’t set 5100’s all the way up in front, the manufacturer doesn’t recommend it either. I kept the stock coils and went up to the 4th setting and put a single Dakar AAL in back, it was pretty leveled that way with about 1.5” lift. Rides very well on and off road.

 

I've got 888 coils on 5100 on 0 setting. Rides like tits. Can't go wrong with that combo. Also, ditch the sway bar. Body roll is negligible and it softens up the ride.

 

Not true, Im running 5100s on the 4th perch, stock springs and the ride is more plush than my stock Sport shocks. I have been in a close friends 16 Sport with the 5100s, ome colis and they ride about the same. He is ridding on 285s on aftermarket wheels and he does not rub. I drove his dclb all over the beaches of North Carolina and not a single rub. It really depends on the wheel and offset. You can use stock springs and it will still ride fine.

Also I forgot to mention it didn’t settle much if at all after the lift. I also wanted to maintain the rake the truck had from the factory although I know most people like to see it sit level. This should still give you an idea though of how it will sit a variation of the setup you’re looking at.

Yep that is correct. With the Bilsteins set at 0 (which is default) the amount of lift in the front will depend on the coil you choose.

 

I ran it on top notch for a while and it ran fine. Off road and on road. Same ride as stock. I later Switched the stock coils with 2888's and set the shocks to 0 and ride was much better.

 

Little under 3. Mine settled to 2.5

 

5100 front and back. 888 coils 3 leaf progressive aal in back. Still got rake to it. I am weary of the 888s as i didnt get lift i expected. I am 24” in the back. 23” in front(Hub to fender)

 

Part of that lift is from the tires though right?
I gained about 2.5+" lift with the 888 coils on 0 setting Bilstein 5100s. Plus another half inch or so with my 265/70/17 tires.
