If it is not a for sure thing, I may have Service confirm it is applied before taking ownership of it.

You havent even got the truck yet and are worried about a TSB. For it to be applied the truck needs to shows signs that are outlined in the document. A TSB is not automatically applied to every vehicle.

Mostly curious if anyone knows how Toyota determines when and if a TSB would get applied at the factory as part of the build. I have owned a previous 18' Taco that exhibited those same shifting issues, and would really not like to have them again right out of the gate. We will see though.

You would need to check the calibration ID with the TSB, its possible that the 2019 have an entirely different ECU and Calibration than the 2018's, and thus the TSB is already incorporated and not apply.

I just bought a 2019 ORSB... taking it to the dealer after two short weeks to see if there is a TSB for the terrible performance.

I'm guessing the truck does not have the flash yet, will post after my appt. on 2/27

Did you not test drive before hand? Or has the performance gotten worse since you took delivery?

You should really have done a test drive before purchasing.

I brought my 19 in for a defective window seal and mentioned about the shifting issues (I never mentioned the TSB). They said a TSB exists but they won’t install it to my 19 as it doesn’t apply to the 19s (Technically they are right by the paper work), even though we all know all is identical in every way.

Yes, I did test drive. Unfortunately didn't notice during that time.

TSBs aren’t done during manufacturing. Only recalls.

Not every truck exhibits TSB behavior, therefore, not every truck has that work performed.

Back from the dealer today, as stated above no TSB for my 2019. Next steps are to get a buyback price (<1000) miles on truck, or install ShiftSense Pro and get on with life...

My 19 Pro was built 12/18. No transmission issues. Keep I mind though it does take ~1000 miles settle in or learn which is not unlike other makes.
